direct tv

just got back from are first trip, sturgis sd bike week, i have a older singel tower direct tv dish and a active reciever in a extra room will i be able to hook this up, also how high off the ground does the dish need to be,

I got a tripod for camping world works great and stows in small space. The only issue I have had is getting a clear view of sky, campers or trees might be in way. Last trip needed 125 ft of cable to set up dish.

Height of the dish doesn't make any difference, just make sure nothing on the ground is blocking the signal from the satellite. For over the air signals, it needs to be as high as practical.
