I've never really been to impressed with RV shows. A lot of salesmen sitting around sucking on bottle water or soda with greasy pizza boxes in site. However, the very first RV show DW and I attended did influence our RV destiny. After walking around and looking in pop ups, TT's and 5'ers we came upon a class C and A sort a bumper to bumper. We went into the C first, beautiful Jayco and really liked it. Then we went into the A. The increased open spaciousness and looking out the huge one piece windshield instantly sold me that if we ever do buy one of these things, that's what I want. DW preferred the C because of the van type chassis and perceived drivability. Well after casually searching used rigs in our area we came across our first RV, a very well maintained Tiffin Allegro. Took a little salesmanship by me on the DW going the A route vs. C, but she agreed, we bought it and now DW would never go to anything but a class A. Probably the first and last influence a show had on us. We still go to them because it is nice to look, touch, think of the up coming season.
