Discount programs for Disabled? Golden age?

Hi everyone,
My husband is disabled and I was wanting information on different discount programs such as Golden age or other State park programs for disabled to get a discount for camping.
We live in Louisiana but will be camping all over the US.
Thx in advance

You didn't tell ypu age, but 62 is the key age for NPS pass, $10 for life time pass. Some states honor the pass. Look up NPS for pass details.

The America the Beautiful pass has an Access Pass for those with permanent disabilities regardless of age. It's free if you obtain it in person or $10 to do it online.

From Missouri State Park site:

NIghtly Camping Discounts
A $2 per night camping discount is available year-round for senior citizens (65 years and older) and persons with disabilities. This discount should be asked for at the time of fee payment.

Campers claiming a senior citizen or disability discount should be prepared to provide an applicable form of identification to receive that discount. Acceptable forms of identification include, but are not limited to:

Disability Discount -- state-issued disabled hang tag; disabled vehicle license plate; federal Golden Access Passport or America the Beautiful - Access Pass; formal letter from the Social Security Administration or Veteran's Administration; signed letter or documentation from doctor

Senior Citizen Discount -- proof of age (65 years or older) such as a valid driver's license or state identification card
Note: The federal Golden Age Passport and America the Beautiful - Senior Pass are issued at age 62 and are not accepted as proof of age in the Missouri state park system

Disabled discount pass for CA state parks has 50% off site fees. This discount makes full hook ups reasonable.

The America the Beautiful pass can be purchased at any National Park when you enter. They charge a one time $10. You can order them online also but they have another fee for handling so just google it to see what that cost is. You must be over the age of 62 to qualify. Sorry, no National Parks in Louisiana.

Since you live in Louisiana you can get free admission and 50% discount on camping at any Louisiana state park. If you make reservations online there is no place on their registration form to claim the discount. I was told you pay the full price and when you get to the gate at the park they will issue a 50% refund to the credit card you used. That is what they did for me at South Toledo Bend State Park a couple weeks ago.

Over 62 or disabled has the same discount. Most states have some kind of discount, some are dollar amounts and some are percentages. State residency is sometimes required to get the discount. Active duty personnel usually get discounts at any age and veterans sometimes get an extra discount. Things like boat rentals, guided tours, and the like may have a discount but it won't be 50%.
