Question Dish TV The Hopper

Is anyone using the Hopper system in their RV? Dish tells me it's not available for RVers.

I don't know why they don't offer it to rv'ers. I took my household hopper with me when I hit the road last year and have had zero issues. I have the hopper w/ sling which is, I guess, a little different than the current hopper 3. I don't know if they are THAT different though. Like I said I have a hopper w/ sling, I also have a wireless joey for the bedroom. I use it with an upside down 1000.2 dish and only have the usual troubles aiming it.

X2. I moved my Hopper and Joey into my camper when we sold our house and it worked great. Now, we have a house and I have it on standby for $5.50 a month. Then, I activate it for a month when we go camping.

Do you use a Tailgater for the antenna?

Nope. The Tailgator won't work. I have a 1000.2 HD antenna and a tripod.

That may be the reason that dish says you can't use a hopper in an rv. I have found only one auto dish that might work with the hopper and it mounts on the roof and is about $1200, not installed.

Edit: I just looked it up and it is a Winegard Trav'ler

Winegard sk-1000 works with hopper, Joey's, and wireless Joey's. The sk-swm3 does all of this for directv and their genie system.
