Question DIY porch

Does anyone have a plan to build a platform that leads from the entrance door to the outside? It would have to be lightweight and portable, so it could be transported easily in one of the compartments. Thank you for any and all ideas.

I built one several years ago, as I grew tired of the movement of the single outside step, and how it also moves the coach anytime someone comes or goes - easy to do from a few pieces of treated 7/8" lumber, a few 1"x1" cross braces, and several 'corner' brackets.

Doesn't weigh too much, is large enough to fit 'around' the entry step, and provides a great, firm foundation - and is still small enough to fit in any storage bay.

I built mine because I couldn't really find any 'premade' type of exterior 'step' to do the same job.

Is the goal to have a small porch to walk out on to, or to make the steps more stable?

Morryde has a fantastic step replacement that is way more stable, no camper rocking while entering.

also, regardless of what you buy or build, it'll have to have enough room to compensate for either the air bag lowering of the coach(diesels), and/or the height change when you've leveled the coach...
mine slips over and around the existing step, not touching it at all... but mine's also much easier since it's only a single step.

I use a plastic pallet for a porch at the bottom of the stairs. Works with the old and new style steps. If you could find a half plastic pallet that may work.
