Do most people use their ovens in RV?
When my husband and I started looking to upgrade from a pop-up to a TT, one of the things I said I definitely wanted in a TT was an oven. I thought it would be something I would use quite a lot since with the pop-up, I couldn't bake anything. We just purchased a used TT and it does have an oven. It seems from what I read on TT forums that most people would prefer the extra cabinet space instead of the oven. What's your opinion?

The person who we hired to inspect the TT before we bought it was trying to explain to us how to light the oven and use the stove. It seemed complicated to me so I'm not sure how its going to work out as far as us using it that much.

We are on our 5th RV since 1983 and have never used any of the ovens. The Aviator we have now has a microwave/convection oven and we still haven't used the convection mode. Sure frees up a lot of space to ditch the oven. There are 3 very useful drawers and a small cabinet in that space.

Our preference is having the oven to use, especially once we learned the pizza stone trick to make it cook evenly without burning the bottom of everything.

When I got my first motor home we went away for the weekend so we could try everything in the unit to make sure it worked and that we knew how to use everything before going on a road trip. I baked chocolate chip cookies and then never used the oven again. I just bought a new motor home and opted for the convection microwave. I will keep you posted.

LOVE our oven... matter a fact when we got our unit... it have a microwave oven.. had a gas oven put in its place. When there is no electric I can still bake. Walmart has cheap microwaves that fill the bill just fine.
We wouldn't give up our gas oven for nuth'n!
Found a great place for pizza stones:
http://www.californiapizzastones.com/
We got a 14" x 15" stone for our oven.

We've used our oven once. We didn't like the result. We now take a toaster-oven with us and use that. The manufacturers would be better off ditching the ovens and giving us more storage space... or, make the oven optional for those that might want it. I'm looking at a new TT and the only thing I don't like about it is that it has an oven.

Biscuits, brownies, fresh cinnamon rolls, and the occasional pizza. Used ours lots. I do use a couple different dutch ovens over the fire when appropriate

We don't use it a lot. But on cold mornings it is nice having warm biscuits or cinnamon rolls. Yummy!

We use ours on every trip. Biscuits in the morning with breakfast. Fries with the burgers for dinner. Cookies for desert. We leave in the morning for Spring break and I'm already excited just thinking about it.

Maybe this will help. I've asked this same question before.

Put an unglazed pizza stone on the oven rack for more even heating.........
4 campers and all our ovens were and are well used.
