Do you drink campground water?
Do you drink campground water? If so, with or without filtration? If you filter, what set up do you have?
Thanks for your time

Nope. We take gallons of water from home or buy drinking water at Wally World. We do use the cg water for washing the dishes and washing hands, though. We have 3 furkids that we don't want to get sick while camping. Even they drink the same water we drink.

We do. Never used to filter, but on this camper I have a basic (GE maybe) cartridge filter I bought at Home Depot and added inline. We've been camping for a long time.. I used to drink from a hose and out of creeks I figured I could survive drinking some campground water.. I did start to grow a third arm, but I think that is not from the water..

Yep. I use a cartridge charcoal filter. Never had a problem.

Same here - on my input hose (for the entire unit)... plus we run all drinking water and water for ice through a Brita pitcher filter.

We use a camco filter, I make coffee with the CG water but we bring bottled water and I fill my fresh water tank with our well water and I still drink from a rubber hose from our well.

Sure. All campgrounds, even private ones are public water supplies, and regulated by the E.P.A.in their state. And they have to use (most likely part time or contract) a licensed public water supply operator for their testing.
Now that said, if it tastes bad or is discolored, I'll filter it. Regulations and testing are for safety, not aesthetics.

It's probably okay to drink. However, it's a chance we don't take. We even bring jugs of water from home for the dogs.

We drink commercially bottled water and water brought from home. I always use the external inline filter whenever drawing from a spigot at the campsite, as well as the interior inline filter. Our GSD has been drinking water from the trailer kitchen faucet and has experienced no problems. We use that water as well for coffee and cooking with no problems.

Something odd about Littleton, Colorado water. My son moved out there. I'd drink from his refrigerator filtered water and get ill. Restaurant same. When we camp there we go to a food store that has the "filtered water kiosk". I've never fallen ill from that...so for the last seven years I don't drink Littleton water. Otherwise the Camco inline filter and everywhere else it's OK.

Of course I do. Have a residential refrigerator with an icemaker! I'm alive, too.

Yes we use campground water. We use the cheap Camco Tastepure 100 micron whole RV filter, replace about every 3 months. We also use a PUR Filter for the water we drink. The PUR filter that sits/filters in the water pitcher. The PUR filter gets replaced a little longer than monthly. 89 campgrounds in the last 16 months with no issues. Hope I didn't jinx us...

Yup! I refuse to buy bottled water unless I absolutely have to. We use the Built in camper filter for sink, shower, etc, and for drinking and the Keurig coffee maker we also use a britta water container which further filters it.
I guess there may be some places with bad water, but buying bottled water just never seemed right to me.
As a Side note, at home I have a small reverse osmosis/deionized filter system in my basement from when I used to have a saltwater aquarium. I ended up running the line from it up to my refrigerator and it makes nice, nearly purified ice and drinking water.

Most bottled water is tap water from somewhere.
https://www.nrdc.org/stories/truth-about-tap
and plastic is petroleum. Not really wanting water that's sitting in petroleum.

We drink whatever is at our destination. I run all water thru two filters. I have a pair of the OminiFilter OB1 housings joined together. First has a string cartridge to grab particulates. Second housing has a carbon block rated for cysts.

Drinking Water
We use the larger Camco filter with a cut traffic cone as a holder. I don't mind campground water, but we usually have some bottled water as well. I always like to see what the campground tastes like. Never had any issues.

For 15 years, we drank campground water with our popups.
We never had any filtration system and we survived with no issues.

Yes, I will continue to do so as long as the EPA has regulations and staff to enforce clean water. That is the job of the EPA.
