We love our Solera. We had trouble with the Murphy Bed, but once we bought all new parts and my husband re-installed the entire mechanism, we've had no troubles with it. We appreciate all the room with 24M floorplan, including a very nice sized bathroom. And we think the inside storage inside is amazing. We're very happy with our purchase.

14 CC 38CK I totally agree with you....but it's not just campers that need better QC. Cars, computers, furniture, clothing, the list goes on. QC is a forgotten art in the manufacturing process.

Just got our 2015 FR3 back after a lengthy stay at the dealer, all bugs worked out, mods finished, and love it. This is an upgrade from our 2007 FR Cherokee Lite 28A+ which had 0 bugs and we loved so much we went straight for a FR Class A.

Well for us, FR (if by FR you mean Forest river), is a big disappointment.... we bought our 2014 Windjammer upon recommendation that Rockwood delivered higher quality products than other makers....

From a water line in the wall having been tacked right through it at the manufacture (imagine the water damage), to counter tops discoloration and windows breaking because installed to tight in the frames, etc... I guess it was manufactured on a sunny friday afternoon when employees were in a rush to finish for the weekend...but did not think of ruining an entire camping experience for the customer...

Love our FR 5ver. Pretty much problem free. Had it for two yrs. lived in for 10wks traveling and 4 2 week stacations. Not trading this one in. Had Rockwood lite before this for 2 yrs and had no probs with it either.

Have very fond memories of our 2008 Shamrock 183 despite some delam issues and we love our new Shamrock. No big issues thus far. I was involved in the RV industry for a few years (Thor) and saw trades from all the major manufacturers and would put FR up against any of them.

As in life, you never really hear about the good, just the bad when things go wrong. Kind of like watching the news.

I love our 2012 XLR Thunderbolt, 35X12. It is beautiful, the bathroom is wonderful, the kitchen area is well planned. I wish my kitchen at home was as well built. Although the cabinet door on the pantry was a little heavy for the screws and it broke off. We are just going to take the inside part out and replace it with a nice brassy looking thingy.

We pull it with a Ford F-350 with the dreaded 6.0. Had to have some mods on that and now my husband isn't afraid of using it. We haul my V-rod trike and his Dyna-glide. Hopefully we can use it more than just a few days a year for a motorcycle rally. Went to Smokey Mountains last year and everything was wonderful.

Another recall affecting 1,500 FR products. It addresses the wheel studs that hold the wheels to the axle hubs. This is a very important recall that everyone needs to look up.

Without getting too long winded: love the camper, but wish FR had some SOP's and ISO procedure when building our units. They can't say they do because more often than not a new unit has a lot of initial issues to be worked out. The lack of building specs and guidelines would go a long way in making a happy customer a happy camper. Oh, and my dealer, Campers Inn in Kingston N.H.? Terrible, terrible from top to bottom.

We have only owned our (slightly used) 2007 WildCat for 1 year.

Looked at several other brands and models but the WildCat gave us the best bang for the buck.
It gave us an opportunity to move up without breaking the bank.

Forest River has 'many' RV models and names out there and this Forum is proof that 'yes' there are problems but I do believe that it comes with the numbers.

I'm glad that this thread was started to show that owners 'are happy 'with their FR product.

We have had Thor products, Fleetwood Products, and now our first Forest River 5er. Each time we trade we trade for a nicer line. Something furnished a bit better with a modern and appealing floor plan so it's not really fair for me to say that my Salem is head and shoulders better than my last Fleetwood unit, they are not on the same level from the beginning.
In my experience however, your dealer is the deciding factor if you will be pleased or not with any trailer. Every unit I have ever purchased has needed something taken care of within the first few months. If the dealer values your time and makes quality repairs, you will leave still in love with your purchase. If the dealer drags his feet, makes excuses, and is hard to work with, the machine sucks!!!

I have had a similar experience. I had a 20' 1975 Tioga Class C and I loved it. After reframing the cab overhead from the inside and numerous leak fixes I finally donated it to the Salvation Army when it got so old that I didn't trust the motor any more. I loved the layout, the back had a U-shaped eating area and was all windows, offered a panoramic view. Nowadays they all seem to have the bed in the back and small windows. That is the only thing I really miss. Otherwise, my new 24' Sunseeker Class C has lots of great innovations that didn't exist back then (and more to go wrong too). One irritant is the CO detector, it goes off occasionally for no reason whatsoever, very annoying. The other is that the front of the vehicle is lower than the back, and I always have to drive up on levelers to keep the refrigerator functioning properly. I wonder if larger front tires would work. Has anybody done that?

We had 30 items to fix on our MH and it took few months but we love it now, it sounds like everyone had some problems at first.

We bought a brand new FR Wildwood 29 QBDS. It has 2 AC units. The main unit went out after 2 months. Called the dealership, they had me bring it in...diagnosed and replaced unit the same day. Very lucky from what I've read about other's experiences...this is our 2nd FR and we couldn't be happier with it!

I couldn't find it either. Hopefully someone will post further info.

Anyone can go to Safecar.gov (NHTSA website) and search for recalls for their specific Forest River product. Just search equipment and then your make/model. I couldn't find anything on wheel studs for my specific 5er though.
