Dogs in RV Parks

On the “Pit Bull” issue. My “granddog” is an America Pit and a sweeter dog doesn’t live. A lot of KOA’s I have stayed at - ask what breed and if you say pit you will be barred with dogs. They state the reason is Insurance. This is unfortunate but more of a case of bad media bias over reporting “bad dogs when they are pits” vs others. Sad but the times we live in.

As to how many - we often have four - 2 boxer mixes and 2 Australian Cattle Dogs. When making reservations we just say 2 dogs and 2 cats ( our cattle dogs are old and grumpy like cats so - just a little lie). Never once had an issue. I reckon if we cause a ruckus or don’t clean up after them or let them bark someone would likely complain and we would be asked to move on. We don’t do those things so never an issue these many years. The most anyone has ever said is how can you live in an RV with that many dogs. We just say “ how can’t you”

Life is sweeter with dogs - even if they are called cats.
