Dogs, Trucks and Keys
So...I know this guy who was dropping off his TT at storage. The DW wanted to go and of course wanted to bring her babies (their 2 little dogs). So they get the TT backed into their spot, shut off the truck and the guy and his DW get out of the truck. The keys in the ignition, windows up and shut the door. One of their dogs step on the door lock button and now they are locked out with their dogs inside. Now what ?!?
Luckily for them the storage was run by a wrecker service and after calling them, the driver came out and unlocked the door. $25 later a lesson learned. Teach them damn dogs how to unlock the doors!!!

When we bought the truck I thought, "Meh... that's neat but I'll never need it." Now when we go to the beach I just leave the keys in the truck!

The nice thing about on-star on my phone, my doors somehow got locked while I was in Goshen, engine running.

My Ford has the keyless entry and I keep the code in my wallet. I have never had to use it but I am getting older and you never know. I have locked my keys in my car only once an it was embarrassing. Back then, 1979, all it took was that flat pice of metal to open it.

I AM old.. I carry 2 sets of keys on me. Left pocket back-up keys...right full set. Yes. I am weird, but I don"t get locked out.

I do love my OnStar! I too like to carry 2 sets of keys but with the cost of the keys these days, DW has one set and I have the other. With OnStar, if I have cell coverage, I can always get into the truck.
My pups have a bad habit of stepping on the armrest in the back seat where the window up/down switch resides. Unless I remember to lock the rear windows out, they'll have the windows down in the blink of an eye!

We have OnStar as well BUT when your Phone is Also Inside and your in the middle of ? Good Luck! We have a "Cheap Key" hidden in a Mag holder,it will ONLY open the Door but that is all we need!  Youroo!!

On most Fords you have the option of changing the code so you don't have to carry the card with the unlock code

That is always a worry with 2 legged and 4 legged kids. I miss my keyless entry on my old truck. Although one time we had a snowstorm and my truck was at the dealer getting some work done. It was ready but I had my DH's Camaro which is not a good idea to drive in snow. I managed to get to the truck after being towed up a hill by a kind gentleman in a shiny white ford truck. The dealership was closed but they had locked the keys in my truck for me to get when I used the keypad to get in. Nope. The keypad was frozen from freezing rain. No way the Camaro was making the drive home. A kind gentleman gave me a ride in his nice new truck. Got home safely. No car at home. Neighbor Took us to get the truck the next day. The lock was defrosted by then. Learned my lesson about relying on the keyless number pad.

I keep a spare in the MH for the Toad and Vice Versa. Why yes, our dog thinks it's funny to lock us out when we go for a walk without him too.

Three Fords
I have 3 Fords ALL with Keyless entry all set to the same code. Use it all the time. Don't forget, after you enter your code you can hit the 3-4 button and it will unlock ALL the doors. Other numbers do additional things. The keyless entry is a big factor for me when I buy a car, hence 3 Fords. That along with living in a small town with only a GM/Dodge and Ford dealership.

X2 - love my Ford's combo lock. I woud like to put one on my Solera now. On my last trip I dropped my keys while walking the dogs at night.I was really tired and that was the last thing I wanted to be doing was to be retracing my steps. With the help of a neighbors' bright spotlight, fortunately I found them. Lesson learned on keys!!

I have an uncoded key in the gas door or both vehicles.Ours are to old to have all that keyless code stuff,just a couple uncoded keys work fine. If your not old enough to know what an uncoded key is,its an entrance key for the door that does not have the electronic info burned onto it to start the car. AAA works in a pinch too.We never lock anything anyway so its kinda a non-issue,but stuff can happen.
