That's the best way - but the OP's question asked how if "alone".

Same thing I do I'll take a tire buddy move the driver seat forward and wedge the tire buddy between the seat and break peddle

Hadn't thought about it, but this is another use that could be performed by these wireless cameras that several of us are using. Just place it behind the RV aiming at it, and look at the monitor as you do your brake/light checks.

Just remember even if your wife of camping buddy's check them it's ultimately the drivers responsibility if you get in a wreck and the officer ask you did you check your lights and you say my wife or friend did guess who's getting citied

Much adieu about a minor expenditure of time, turn the 4 way flashers on, the headlights on and less than a 1 minute walk around, put the vehicle in reverse, look in the mirror for back up light reflection and upper brake light reflection. No 1/2 full cans, props, patio stones or other people involved. All checked in a minute or less.

You are smart to check your lights work before you pull away< I do it with a screw driver, wedged to press against my break petal. That's really all you can do. You have no control if the light burns out when traveling. If I get pulled over I get pulled over. I'm not going to let it ruin my day or night. I'm surely not going to buy a camera to keep and eye on them. I think the old rule of thumb was that for every 10 miles of speed you should leave 1 car length between you and the car ahead of you. If some idiot is texting they are going to hit you anyway, lights or not.

Funny, I do it in the daylight probably 75%-80% of the time with no props, etc. and have for several years.

Nobody is arguing, just stating fact! B47's & Glenn's methods are not the only way to do something even if they do think so.

Might not of said it, but when someone else puts forth another way, they're arguing.
