Dometic AC Roof Stains
Is this staining normal from the AC condensation drip? Seems like my tt before this didn't stain this way. I've read where some dometics were leaking oil but both AC's are staining like this so seems unlikely that both would be leaking oil. I did try some Tilex mold and mildew and a magic eraser and it cleaned them up pretty good. Both units work fine btw. Thanks.

My two Units are doing the same thing on our cedar Creek CKTS. I too would like to know if this is normal.
Please chime in anyone!

If the forum would allow me to post a pic or a PDF through tapatalk, I would provide Dometic's response to my dealer's inquiry.

This looks like our roof the First Time out when New! 90 in the shade and our Air Quit blowing Cold air!I ask my wife why she turned Off the Air,she said I didn't! Up on the roof I go,Oil running down both sides of roof,Looked the Same as Your Pic! Cleaned up the MESS, Water and Oil Mixed and Called Coach Net and they Set Up a Puma Dealer to Repair our Flagstaff! Dropped it off on way home and picked it up the Next week,New AC unit installed! I know yours is Still working but that Oil has to come from Somewhere! When I was on the roof I removed the A/C cover and the pan had oil in it as well, mixed with the Water,Hell of a Mess to clean all this up,But if not cleaned up the Entire Roof and Trailer would have been covered while "Going Down the Road"! Youroo!!

I've been up on the roof and has all the covers taken off and there wasn't any sign of oil leaking inside the unit that I could see.

OK,have you used a C/G that is close to a "Coal Mine or Gravel Pit" allowing the Dust from these to Mix with the A/C Condensate? Youroo!!

So basically dometic determined there was nothing wrong with your AC, and you were responsible for cleaning the stains?

That's the short version, yes.

I went up on the roof with Tilex mold and mildew and a magic eraser and that pretty much cleaned it right up so maybe mine is just "organic" material too, thanks for the info.

I have never had an RV that didn't have some dark streaking from the a/c across the roof. I'm assuming from the condensate drip. I just clean mine up with Protectall rubber roof cleaner and then the conditioner and it looks like new (until the next time).

Dometic AC Oil Stains of roof
Have the same oil stains from our Dometic 15K AC. Dometic is paying to take care of it. Will replace with new roof and new AC. Dealer and I could not get the oil stain off of the roof.

I talked to the dealer I bought the camper at and sent them picks....apparently there is a known issue with this staining from Dometic AC's....since it's under warranty the dealer is supposed to run a dignostic test on both AC's to make sure they are functioning properly and Dometic is paying to have the roof cleaned. I haven't had it done yet or even scheduled it, this is just what I've been told, trying to wait it out until after camping season since both AC's are working fine right now.

If yours looks anything like mine, the dealer is going to be getting the stains off. I have tried everything
