Hello ..new to forum and I was wondering if anyone has tried to change to pitch of their awning by extending the length of the lower arm.

I tried to this summer during a rain storm in Myrtle Beach. T It didn't hold position and I was afraid of over tightening it. This was my first season with the camper. It was a very feeble attempt.
