Dometic fridge/surge protector question

So we got the surge protector and now every time that the electric surges it does its job and resets everything Except the Fridge... Ughh
So now when we go out to check on it after the surge the fridge has sucked out all the propane because I guess that the fridge does not automatically go back on to the electric after the surge.. Am I right?
Is there anyway to keep the fridge just on electric and to stop it from switching over to propane after the electric surges?

I've never had a frig that didn't default to electricity when it was available. But the switch must be in "Auto" if you have a frig with auto/gas button.
