Ok. I thought I could easily find the thermistor to figure out what y'all are talking about but I am clueless. I have no idea what I'm looking for with the thermistor and how to look for it "in the slide". Thanks for your help.

The white plastic piece at the top of the first aluminum fin is the clip we're talking about. In this pic, it's centered on the word Colder.
There should be a wire coming through the wall of the refrigerator and going INTO that white plastic clip/slide. On the end of that wire is a sensor called a thermistor. In my fridge, the higher that thermistor is, the colder the refrigerator gets.

Thanks, Mr. Dan! I now totally understand. The picture was very helpful. What I also understand now is that we do not have the clip/slide that keeps the thermistor up! So I think that that mystery has been solved that is the biggest issue for the fridge not cooling efficiently. Is the clip/slide something I can buy at an RV store or online?

You may have a completely different kind of refrigerator. Can you post your model number? Do you see a wire anywhere inside?

On edit -- so you have the wire but not the clip? Ask you dealer to take one out of another unit... or email Dometic and ask for one.

The new dometics do not have a thermistor slide per say.
The setting selector is on the outside face panel
