The freezer is cooling ok but the top inside of door is very warm and has a brownish line running across it. Should this be a concern. I noticed it ewen I got ice tray out. It is running on AC. I very seldom use propane.
Open the door, place a dollar bill between the door gaslet and outside. Close the door and try pulling the bill. If it comes out really easy, younneed a new door gasket.
You might also go outside, open the refer access panel and take a look. If you smell something funny or see a yellowish residue, your refer is dead.
For future reference, you should post the manufacturer and model number so people with the same unit can help.
If it's a Dometic and it's hot between the freezer door and fridge door, it's probably got a condensation heater. If you remove the lower outside grill and look at the wiring diagram that's posted there, look for a heater installed in parallel with your inside light. (It's Item "K" in the lower left corner of the pic below of my Dometic DM2652LBX. Item "H" is the light switch and Item "G" is the light).
If you're on shore power, it's not a big deal so far as I am aware. But if you want to boondock with no shore power, it will suck up tons of amps from your battery. I've attached another forum members "how to" on disconnecting it.
