Allenrhamilton the fuse is very hard to get to, but my husband was able to slide a long screwdriver through the vent to pop off the cover yesterday. I think the opening on the RV is for the smaller fridge, not mine. Went to about 5 stores today and finally found the right fuse. Will try to put it in later today and see what happens. I just have no idea why it blew in the first place, so not sure if it will happen again soon. It was raining that day, not sure if there was lightning but I have a good surge protector that I use. If the fridge overheats, does it cause the fuse to blow? I might have to add those extra fans I’ve seen people use....would hate to be somewhere remote and lose my beer, I mean food!

When you replace the fuse, be sure to clean the fuse holder. A bad connection with the fuse holder can cause heat. Suggest using alcohol and Q-tip to clean the fuse holder. I place a small amount of 'die-electric grease' on my fuses to provide a better electrical connection and to reduce corrosion. An overheating refrigerator doesn't cause the fuse to blow. This is the 'chicken and egg' situation.

Finally found the fuse at an Ace hardware near me. Cleaned the holder, replaced the fuse and the fridge now works on electricity. My husband and I are thankful for everyone on the forum who gave us suggestions and directions to resolve this issue. Saved us a trip to a repair shop and gives us peace of mind knowing that we’re only a “post” away from help when we need it. Thank you again for your help. I learn so much reading this forum.
