Dometic toilet upgrade

Hey all. We are trying to decide on which Dometic toilet to get to replace the 300 (plastic) one that came in our 2018 Flagstaff 29KSWS. Did a search of the forum and only found one brief discussion about the differences between the 310 and the 320. So looking for more info and opinions on the pros and cons of both models. I understand the 310 now comes with the slow close wooden lid, but can't find out if the lid on the 320 is also slow close. Saw someone said in the other discussion that the 310 is kind of pressure sensitive? Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry if this has been discussed before and I didn't find it.

BE VERY VERY CAREFUL ABOUT UPGRADING FROM 300-310-320

There are dimension differences between the models. The most important being the distance from the neck of the toilet overtop of the drain to the black tank, to the wall behind your toilet.

Some toilets are round, and some are oval, therefore longer front to back.

Thanks kenandterry, I'll be sure to measure everything carefully. Our 300 is positioned diagonally coming out from corner of bathroom and I believe there is quite a bit of room behind it. But that said, I will try to measure to make sure. My dealer has the 310 and 300 in stock, so I can compare those two right there but will have to find out the exact dimensions of the 320. Thanks again.

I just installed a Dometic 320 this week and it does not have a slow close lid. The measurement is critical on the backside as it is longer. It came within 3" of our back wall. It is elongated also, so need to think about possible cabinet door that might open towards the front. Fortunately for us, it was a perfect fit. Good luck!

Thanks for info FR3Traveler. Just wondering if it replaced a 300 or something else? Just asking to see if the 320 is about the same size as the plastic 300. I can't find the actual dimensions of the 320 on Dometics site. Thanks again

Dometic toilet upgrade

I replaced the 300 with a 320 on my 21FBRS. No slow close lid. I had to cut the trim behind the commode below the closet to get it to sit right. But it was worth it. My wife is much happier with her new throne.

22 x 14.8 x 19.8 inches. $215.20 Google and Amazon are your friends. Full porcelain and wood elongated seat. Just like home.

Do a search on this forum, top right of this page, for lots of info.

I'll be installing one this summer. After doing hands-on measurements.

This is the Correct answer! You will find out "Toilet Shopping" is NOT cut & dried! The Dometic Toilet Site is Very Confusing in regards to "Seats -Soft close/wood/shape, If you want a High Rise,Ceramic Bowl,Soft Close Lid & Seat/Wood,Round or Elongated Shape,that will FIT your Bathroom location,GOOD LUCK! tonyz1' we did replace a 300 with a 320. You can go to Dometic.com and just put the model # in the search window. It will bring up specs and manuals.

300 = 20" deep, 19.25" height, 15" wide, 8 lbs.
320 = 22" deep, 19.75" height, 14.75" wide, 37 lbs.

Good luck and happy camping.

Thanks to all for your replies and helpful information. With those dimensions I think I can do some measuring and know what will fit in my camper. We are Like the slow close lid on the 310, but seems like the 320 is more house like. Just have to buy our own slow close for it. Anyway, with tape measure in hand, I'm heading out to the camper. Thanks all again.

I just replaced my 310 with the 320. She is happy with it.
The 320 is a little longer as it just touches the wall, not a concern. The wood seat is nice, but as stated, is not slow close. I notice that water flow does not travel around the bowl and rinse as the 310 did, once again not a concern.
PPL Motorhomes had it on sale for $188.99 plus $9.95 shipping. Ordered Monday at 4:45 pm and Fedex delivered it at 3:30 pm on Wednesday! Must have been warehoused here in Florida.

Just replaced my 300 with a 320 on Saturday the 10th. Other than needing to be a contortionist to reach the left bolt it went fairly easy. It is longer than the 300 and does contact the wall so measure beforehand. I didn't but think I'll be okay. Our toilet is in a corner in the bathroom and touches the left wall a bit. It is very comfortable and absolutely no squeaking at all.

Thanks again to all the help. And thanks cavie and FR3Traveler for the dimensions and advice to search Dometics site. The one telling dimension that I finally found on their site was the distance from the front of the pedestal to the very back of the toilet.
300-- 13"
310-- 14.75"

320-- 16"is
Makes it easier for myself to measure how much farther back the replacement will set from the original. Just my own way of looking at it. Again love this forum and the help I get. Thanks

let me know how the flush is. That is the reason why the wife wants a new one. Does it wash the bowl all the way around?

Sorry cavie, meant to answer you back earlier and just forgot. We are probably going to get the 320. It should fit in our space as far as I can measure. It says it has the full rim rinse and video looks like it rinses bowl pretty well. It will be a couple weeks before I can hook up to water and see how it works, don't want to dewinterize too early. I'll let you know how it works then. Thanks again for the help.

To me the most important measurement is the rough-in from back wall to center drop. 310 = 10"/320 = 11". The 320 does have full bowl gravity flush whereas the 310 has full bowl "turbo flush".

Went ahead and ordered the Dometic 320 today from Motor home PPL. Got the best price thru them, and I think we will like the 320 design better than the 310.We If spring ever decides to show up here, I will try to get it installed, hopefully before April 1st. That is when our camping season usually starts and I dewinterize around then. Let you all know how it fits and works within a couple weeks. Thanks all for help and suggestions.

Cavie, we have used our new 320 now for 2 days traveling to Florida. It works very well, is extremely quiet and does wash around the whole top of the bowl.

We just got our new trailer and it has the Dometic 300 plastic toilet which creaks loudly when you sit on it. Does anybody know if the 310 with the slow close seat is quieter?

We replaced our 300 with the 320 this past week. It doesn't have a slow close lid but it is residential still wooden lid. Haven't dewinterized it yet to see how it works, but it seems very sturdy and quiet while just sitting on the lid. We looked at the 310 but decided we wanted something a little bigger and more "house" looking. Be sure to measure carefully to make sure you have enough room for your replacement. You can search on Dometics site and get all the specs. Happy camping!
