Double tow rig

Wife and I were in North Dakota near Fort Mandan and were on the way back into town when we saw this truck towing a fifth wheel towing a boat. I had heard here that this was legal out west, but it is a different thing to see it.

A buddy of mine who works for the Oregon Dept. of Transportation sent me this photo. According to him, perfectly legal according to Oregon law. Check it out:

I live in Northern MI and see it quite often. I believe there is a total length limit of 60', but don't quote me.

We can be 75' here in SD and boats, jetskis, cargo trailers, and utility trailers behind 5ers is pretty much the norm. If you aren't pulling a trailer with your 5er than there is probably a bike rack back there. Our neighbor has a double hitch on his rig that he mounts a bike rack and hooks up the boat. Even TT's pull smaller boats.

I have seen it. However, I also believe in safety first. RVers don't need a CDL license, but should know the safety concerns and adhere to them.

As I take a second look at this picture there appears to be a motorcycle or ATV in the bed of the jeep that's in the bed of the truck....that guy has fun stacked on top of fun, stacked on top of fun, pulling some more fun.

His 5W hitch is in the small trailer being towed by the truck.

I Mi 65ft is the limit, and you need a rec double license, I tow double. You see boats behind 5ers all summer

How about a trailer behind a car being towed behind a motor home?
