Drive Thru RV/TT Wash

Is there such a thing out there as a drive thru RV/TT wash; much like the automated car washes? I think there are some out there for big rigs aren't there? If so, wonder if they would work for our rigs. Just Wondering.

I use the blue beacon near me a couple times a year. I tell them not to get too close with the pressure washers. Costs $35 for my 40' fiver. Does a decent job and then we drive the 5-10 min home and use a spray on wax ourselves.

I run the horse trailer and equipment tralier thru one of these(not blue beacon).The trailers that they are designed for do not have rubber roofs or some of the other RV features.I would never run the Wolf Pack thru it,the high pressure sprays hit the trailer and TV from all angles,includeing undernieth.The underbody wash is the biggest reason I like it for the horse trailer,but it is a Merhow and is 100% aluminum with ss fasteners .It keeps the undercarridge of my truck squeeqy clean,but I think it would be a disaster for the flimsy underbelly of a RV.They almost always use hydroflouric acid as an aluminum brightner(another reason to run the all alunimum horse trailers thru them).The problem with hydroflouric acid is that it also goes after the plateing used on fasteners used on vehicles and RV's.3 or 4 trips thru and all the nuts,bolts, and screws will be bare steel and rusty.Some of them have the ability to delete the acid rinse,but the pressure will still peel decals and blow thru loose caulk.Just my oppinion.

We have used Blue Beacon when returning from the Gulf coast to get the salt off of the Windjammer. The guys were very careful about spraying and did a good job washing off the bottom side without getting too close and tearing the liner. It was $35 for the TT and TV but they don't dry them off; they did dry rather spot free though. BTW - be prepared to wait in line as we have had 6-12 trucks ahead of us both times we used them. We are lucky now and our storage facility has a tall self-service wash rack with twin walk ways and 4 hoses. I think it cost me $8-9 in quarters last time I washed it and they have a spray wax also.

What spray on wax do you use and where do you get it? Thanks

The service manager at my RV dealer cautioned against taking my TT to a truck wash for the same reason trbomax stated: the high pressure sprayers can loosen and peel off decals. There is a Blue Beacon about 3 miles from my house but I have taken on the job of washing my TT myself in an effort to keep the decals intact and looking great. I purchased a really nice washing brush with an extendable handle that hooks directly to the hose and it makes the job easier. No doubt about it, washing the TT is a big job for one person to tackle, but it is possible and preferable to peeling decals.

I would love to do that and wash mine at home also, but it will not fit in front of my house as the street is curved. Nor will it fit in the drive way without 1/2 still being in the street. I only use Blue Beacon when we have been around salt water and they were very careful with the pressure; I watched.

I understand your dilemma. I live on a farm so storing my TT when not in use is easy. I did have to purchase 150 ft. of garden hose in order to run the hose from a pump to the TT without having to move the TT. While I find washing my TT myself to be a big job, I really enjoy it. Very satisfying to see the end product, plus it gives me a great opportunity to go over the TT and inspect the exterior just to stay on top of things.

I also us a long wash brush as well to wash my TT and it does not take that long. I also can not get my TT near my house to wash it, so what I do is fill the fresh water tank and go to a public parking area and wash it there. I have never had a problem or complaint.

Meguiars ultimate quick wax. It is available at Wal-Mart or any auto parts store. Spray on, wipe off.

For best results use a microfiber rag. When washing the microfiber rag do not use fabric softener.

I have looked at the Meguiar's Quick Wax and wondered if it really works. I'll have to get some since it has been recommended.
