I can relate to the OP as the speed limit here in CA is 55 when towing and many programs will use the maximum speed limit instead (non-towing traffic). I'm going to check out the suggestions as it would be nice to have a closer esitmate time of arrival.

Great choice for "Living within my means" and camping for one...

I've found that I have to add 25% to the times shown on my garmin GPS when I'm towing but they are spot on when not towing, remember when you stop for gas towing it takes about 20 to 30 mins by the time you get back on the highway and you do it a lot more towing. We just got back from Pigeon Forge TN and GPS had us arriving at 7:35 but we did not get here till 11:30 so that was 4 hours added to an 11 hour trip.

We plan our trip to be about 300 miles per day when on a long trip. This is the max we try to do. Some days are longer and others shorter depending on location of CG.

DDC is pretty spot on for us- if we get off of the highway, we instantly lose 15 minutes. Meal-times are usually 45 minutes for a quick meal and up to 1 - 1 1/2 hours average.

I use MS Streets & Trips and you can tweak it to adjust driving times but I've found if I use 50mph as an average, I can get pretty close to the actual drive time. That 50mph is from pull out to pull in including rest/lunch stops, gas stops and potty breaks for the dogs. By using that figure, we're usually within 30 minutes of our ETA.

Edited to add that the times hold true for interstate driving.

I have been considering giving Home - RouteBuddy - Modern Digital Map software for Windows, Mac OS X and iOS a try. Seems like it may be tough to use though.

No answer to this, but wanted to say I'm glad you made the first leg through snow yesterday. Keep us posted. How is weather for you today. Where did you head out from today.?

Arrived at fort wilderness about 3. Traffic through Orlando was a little crazy but arrived at the campsite and promptly had an a new adventure.

The accent light post at the corner of the camp site across from me was no match for my bumper.

Had a great sunny afternoon at the pool and am now relaxing at the camp site.

I need to remind my kids why they will be going to the local community college in 6 years. The new ID card/payment system is making purchases way too easy. Disney has cast it's $ spell and my wallet doesn't like it.

All in all, it is way better than the winter snow advisory in Cleveland that will ultimately dump almost 1 1/2 feet of snow by the time the storm ends.

Glad you made it safe and sound, minus a little ding. I'm so impressed how quickly you got there, considering you set out in snow.
