Driving with the Generator running double checking

Hi all - I plan on heading out tomorrow in the camper and it's high 90's here in Boston for the next few days...i want to double check it's ok to drive with the generator running, so i can have the a/c running in the coach. I've read that this is ok - can someone confirm that's correct.

Thanks in advance.

Yep your good to go. We do it in our concord time to time. If it's hot we will start gen-set couple hrs away from destination and run big ac to start cooling

Yep. I just completed a 800 mile round trip with generator and AC running most of the way. No issues.

My wife's cousin bought a Bounder a couple of years ago and were told to run the generator all the time when driving down the road. I suspect the dash a/c just cannot supply enough A/C to keep the driver and passenger cool.....ONLY thing is the mpg goes to hell when the generator is also running.......

Thanks Bob. I noticed that....I did drive with it on and it made a huge difference, especially for the dog :-)

We have owned 3 different Class A DP'ers and we ran the genney all the time going down the road. No problems doing this as it's pretty much SOP for Class owners.

Okay to drive with genny running. One thing to note, genny fuel pickup point is generally at the 1/4 tank point. genny will run out of fuel before the MH. Then it can be a pain to get it restarted. So turn genny off if you are going to run below 1/4 tank or refill before that point.
