Funniest thing I have seen is the helpers trying to help my youngest park a TT. When she was about 18, the men came out of the woodwork in droves> little did any one know she had been hauling a nine horse trailer around since she was about 13. Lol

I don't know that I would recommend removing the WD bars. The receiver is probably only rated for 500 lbs without WD and putting 1,000 lbs or more on it could result in starting a crack that ended in a catastrophic failure at some future time.

Remove sway control if separate - yes. WD bars - no.

A WDH does not reduce the amount of weight on your hitch. It distributes the load across the entire frame of your TV. If your trailer tongue weighs 1000lbs,you will still have 1000lbs on your hitch.

Yes, but dead weight (non WD) loading is a torsional loading where WD loading is a dispersed loading.

Kinda defeats the purpose of a WDH doesn't it? Explain why then, when you engage the torsion bars, the rear end of the TV raises if you are not removing weight on the hitch?

When you don't use a WDH, the entire tongue weight is carried on the back end of your TV. When a WDH is used, the weight is transferred across the entire frame. A WDH simply transfers weight, it doesn't magically make your trailer tongue lighter.

No the weight on the ball remains the same, but the load on the receiver is distributed. If it didn't matter, why do all manufacturers rate the load bearing rating of the receiver at half or less than that of the WD rating?

While we were camping in the No. GA mountains, we were sitting by the fire, enjoying a cool evening, an AirStream arrives. Of course it is dark. We wouldn't want to try and back up in the dark at all. We had to set up in the rain before and that was bad enough. While we didn't offer to help, my husband did offer to turn on his truck lights to help. That was all they needed.

But the hose??????? Omg, I even spray my shoes at the dump station. YUCK!!!

Alot of campsites assign you a site. You have to park where they tell you too.

Yes. But I was referring to places that allow you to chose....example Ga state Parks. All you do is reserve "a site" not a particular site....those places.

GA State Parks reserve you a space. Which is good for us this time because the site we wanted was in a party zone. Since we got to choose, this time we were closer to the bath house (Cloudland isn't full hookup), a little more privacy and a quieter spot. So we got to pick our neighbors. Jekyll Island is not a state campground any longer even though most of the island is a state park. We picked our site (a nice, long pull-through) on line. Our neighbors weren't the greatest. One bunch kept walking through our site to get to the woods behind us to get firewood. Had to bite my tongue to not say something ugly but they finally got the message and stopped.
