Duratain protective Coating Question

My wife and I are in the final process of purchasing a 2014 Salem 26TBUD and the dealer is dropping a protective coating system on me as an option. I just want to know if anyone thinks it a worthwhile investment or a money maker for the dealer?

If it is anything like the Teflon coating they put on cars it would be well worth the money. I have it on my car and wouldn't buy another one with out it. Nothing sticks to the paint everything will wipe right off with little effort including bugs. Hope this helps. Jim

We had a protective coating put on our Rockwood Signature Ultra lite 8329ss with the diamond package. It tan with black trim. Bought it in May and so far it has been easy to clean. I use Zip Wax car wash and a brush and everything comes right off. No black streaks. So far it has been worth the investment

I'd have to say, it's usually just a money maker for the dealer. Take it home, use the wax of your choice, save some money. Just my experience. Several threads on similar offers.

Curious as to the price?

At least in Heaven, RVs will be perfect, and I won't have to keep fixing them.

Just took delivery on a Ceder Creek. 2 months ago we were on Flagler Beach Fl. Guy had a Landmark looked like a Glass finish. Asked him if it was new looked like it, he said no a 2013. He just bought it and had a Duratain finish applied to outside. When we were in negotiations to buy ours I asked about it. A $2,000.00 option. We had it done and it's unbelievable the water just beads off of it. Beautiful shine. We were able to work it in with the deal plus a washer & dryer.
