Duro Tires
Here is my tale of woe....
We picked up our new Wildwood 292FKDS last Friday. Spent four hours at the dealer going over everything including checking tire pressure as we were looking at a 600 mile trip back home. We got 20 miles from the dealership and the right rear tire blew. All that is left is two inches of rubber by the bead. We now have $800 of damages and we promptly purchased new American made tires to replace the Chinese tires, another $800 expense, and are waiting for repair parts to arrive at our local dealer.
Duro only wants to give us more junk tires and our dealer said that our insurance should cover damages.
Sad tale to tell about a brand new trailer....

What brand of tires did you buy, and how do you know they were made in America? Read the fine print on the sidewall and report back please.

 to the Forum. Sorry to hear about your bad luck with your new camper. With a new camper right off of the lot one would think that the tires should be covered under warranty and the damage done by the tires as well. I would seek some kind of action under these circumstances. good luck, I hope you prevail. Please keep us informed

Duro Tires
I purchased Goodyear Marathons. The DOT code shows that they were American made tires and only a couple months old.
I hope no one has to go through this with a new trailer. If your new trailer has Chinese tires on them refuse to buy the trailer unless the dealer gives you a good set of American made tires.

I'm curious what load range the original tires were on that unit. I have seen a few comments on this and another forum about load range C tires on very large rigs that should have had D or E from day one. Once adding all personal items and if towing wet they are under rated from the start. It's something everyone should check into on their unit. The lower rated will ride softer but in many cases they will not last long. For some reason manufacturers get the wrong tires on some units when they ship them. We have seen reports of wrong load rated tires and even wrong sizes coming from the factory. Be safe... check them before next season starts.

How common are Duro tires on FR products? I read a lot about them on other "general" RV forums, but very little about them here on the FRF.

Michael, sorry to hear of the troubles so soon. Hopefully this means you got it out of the way early and nothing else bad will ever happen again.
When we took delivery of our brand new Georgetown 2 years ago the driver that drove it out from Indiana had hit a concrete pole at a toll booth. We had a brand new rig with the right front hub cap that was bashed in and damage to the fiberglass in front of that tire and some scratches on the passenger mirror and low on a compartment door. This guy was an ex semi driver!
Their insurance paid for it and you can't tell it ever happened but it's not a great way to start out with a new rig. I fell for ya. Good to know you and your family are ok though as things could have been much worse.

Our 8280WS was built February this year and came with Duro 225/75/15 load range C. No issues (yet). Our previous Rockwood had Carlisle tires...one of them went flat while we were camping due to a few pinhole leaks in the sidewall.

my 2010 8281SS had them ... Load range C, happily removed them two months after I purchased it and went to Maxxis LR D's

My G210 came with Duro tires. Cracked through to the cord second summer out. Cost me $300 to have them replaced under a good will warranty from Duro and my dealer. I have covers for the tires now.

Both of my Coleman pop ups had them, never a problem. My Flagstaff V lite has Carlisles- !4inch load range C

Duro's were on my Jayco. 1 of the tires weather checked in 1 year. swapped it for the spare & got covers.

My 2009 Rockwood came with chinese carlisles. Used them for two camping seasons - about 3000 km's on them, but because of the stories I've read on line at this forum and others I decided to do some preventative maintenance and change up to Goodyear Marathons - which I insisted were not made in China (they are US made but that is ok). Note - not all GY Marathons are made in the USA. $940 installed - with all bearings repacked and filled with Nitro (I know I know latest gimick in tire sales - but it was only $5 more, and its sounds cool to say "I'm riding on Nitro" - and the green stems are cool looking, don't you think?) :P

Our 2010 Rockwood has Duro DS-2100's, size ST225/75R15. The trailer isn't here at the moment, but I'll assume the 50 PSI rating means load range C.
Had Goodyears on other RVs and I didn't think they were anything special, American made or otherwise. Replaced the last set with Carlisles.

Duro tires junk
Duro tires are junk!!!!! 10 month old wildwood tt 29fkss. Love tt hate tires. Now Duro wants pictures and paperwork filled out. I faxed today, but dont want any more Duro tires they are all very CRACKED !!!!! Whats tires are good replacements
