DW likes planning & packing as much as the trip

There are a lot of aspects to getting ready for the road. And I love watching my wife get us ready. She gets so excited about making sure things like enough meds are taken, what the menu is going to be, what should we take for the fuzzheads. She loves small travel sized things like toothpaste, shampoo, etc. Gotta get plenty of those. She is currently obsessed with weight ( probably not a bad thing ). EVERYTHING has to go across the scales, right down to a pair of socks.

I really think she enjoys this as much or more than the actual trip.

I wish I was so lucky. At times I think my DW thinks we can just pull the trailer out of storage straight to the campground without any of the packing, getting ready, etc...

You are a lucky man. A camping strip for us always involves a stop to a Super wal-mart for food, clothing items, and other items forgotten.

Yea us too. I am ready to go see something at our new found destination but no we have to go shopping first.

Mine loves the packing and planning too. We have a checklist, mostly food items or location/weather specific items.

I love that part too! I have pages of lists for our Yellowstone trip this summer, and it's still 2.5 months away. Menus, maps, itinerary plans, clothing, etc. I'm sure my husband thinks I'm nuts.

Mine is similar to Bellville Bob's for the packing of the camper, truck. Then I have a grocery list--saved to the computer, set up in the order I go through the aisles at the store where I usually shop. Print out two per sheet of computer paper, for as many weeks as we'll be on the road. Circle items as I run low, or add to the back of the list (blank) for items I didn't think about. We were a long drive from shopping this winter and I only wanted to make that trip once per week.

I can't say I love it but I have many lists, DH has separate lists for tools and stuff. Without our lists I'd go nuts lol.

Two smart phone apps are:
Paperless is a good app for making your own lists. Set the check boxes option and you can reuse the lists.
Our Groceries is another app good for shopping. It can be set up with categories and you can arrange the order of the categories to match your store.

I too love the planning. We keep a box just for camping and add things to it as we buy them or remember them. I have been working on our Florida trip for months now and still afraid I'll forget something. But there are a lot of WalMarts between here and Florida, so long as we remember meds I think we are good.
Forgot to say we load our camper in the spring with most things and just have to add clothes and some food (keep lots in frig all season) and in cabinets.
