East or West

My wife and I are planning our summer vacation with our new trailer. We will be heading out for roughly two weeks. For some reason, my wife thinks we should take our 13 year old daughter with us. We are thinking either Buena Vista CO. or the Smoky Mountain National Park.

We would like to do some river rafting, fishing, and off road ATV or Jeep tours.

We will be leaving around July 7th.

Any ideas are welcomed.

Thanks,

Ouray Colorado is our favorite destination. It is just a small town with great places to eat (no big chains) Click image for larger version

I second Ford Idaho. Our country is so diverse that anywhere you end up has unlimited possibilities. I have been to both the Smokies and the area of Colorado discussed. On addition to the Smokies, the Ocoee River is very close to Chattanooga where you can raft and the Hiwassee River you can float. Dolly Parton's park, Dollywood, is in Pigeon Forge which is a great place for kids and adults. Gatlinburg is nice but a tourist trap. Cade's Cove is a nice drive as well as Maggie Valley and Cherokee. Then looking at Colorado, Durango and Silverton and great places to visit. But as a native of Tennessee I am biased. Just have a great time no matter where you end up.

East or West? I would go North right now. Minnesota, Wisconsin is your best bet for no mosquitoes [frozen]...

What oh were you talking to me, I feel a little foggy right now, I think I'll haul my rig down the road a bit. UHHH where was I going again? Is that my exit I just passed? I'm hungry.
