Electric fire
I had a electric fire when I hooked up my 50 amp service and lost 2 tvs how nothing else why is that.

We'd need some more details. How do you mean lost 2 tvs? Was there a surge that caused the fire? The surge (or a brownout) is what will kill your electronics. The fire is normally caused by a short which, since it's shorted, wouldn't be sending a surge into your devices.

My first thought with the limited information offered is, are you sure it was your RV that was the cause of the fire. Could have just as easily been the 50amp shore power outlet being wired incorrectly or another wiring issue with the power source.

Sounds like an arc-fire from the limited information. Electronics are the most sensitive items in your camper so if your rig took a sudden spike, your power center can generally handle it but not necessarily what's at the end of the circuits! I always recommend to anyone I see to get a good tester/surge protector for shore power. The initial outlay seems spendy until something like this happens. Hope you get back to camping soon!

Most TV's today are partially on all the time. So in effect the TV was on when you plugged in. The other things you say were not effected were most likely off. A good practice is to always shut off the pedestal breaker for the shore power until after you have plugged in the plug. That way any spike generated by intermittent connections generated by plugging in will be eliminated.

I'm leaning with jonrjen on this. It's common for the the television and microwaves to instantaneously blow when incorrectly hooked to a 240 volt power supply. Until the OP shares more detailed information, on exactly what has happened, when it happened, and what he was hooking to.......that will be my guess.

Sounds like instead of shore power wired for 110 it was wired for 220.

do you have a 120 volt plug or 120/240 volt plug if you have a 120/240 volt system if you r neutral wire breaks you can have up to 240 volts on your 120v plugs it is called a floating neutral. If you have 120 volt plug it could be the source that may be the problem.

I need to vent...Here we have an OP that is new to the forum and with a problem. Almost a dozen FR members have answered him trying to help with his problem. He ask his question almost 2 months ago and has yet to respond back to several members who ask for additional info (on the day he ask his question) in an attempt to solve his problem.
If he was able to solve his own problem, great, but let the people willing to help you know that it has been corrected.
