Electric Jack Light won't go out

Just noticed at night that my electric jack light won't go out. I can turn the switch on and it works normally with a bright light, but when the switch is off, the bulbs 3 led, still emit a light....Is than normal? Seems to be a drain on the battery, so how do I resolve it?

First, welcome from chandler, ok!
2nd what brand of trailer?
Is it a tt or a 5er?
I wouldn't think that there should be low light on but if we know what unit you have, we might be able to get someone with the same unit to help.

light switch has failed. Most likely water has got into the switch and is shorting it out causing the light to stay on. If TT is under warranty call dealer and ask how they want to handle the repair. if you are handy its not hard to change. Just make sure you remove neutral wire from battery before you work on the power.

hope this helps

That's funny because the 3 LED light on my Lippert power tongue jack won't come on! They came on bright when new but quickly went dim. Now they occasionally come on dimly, but mostly stay off completely. I'm positive it has nothing to do with water, and everything to do with poor circuit board construction and cheap parts.
Even when on bright, LED's don't have much current draw. You have other items in your camper that draw more (such as the carbon monoxide detector). This means that if your camper is going to sit for any length of time you will need to disconnect the battery or connect a float charger. Either way, I wouldn't worry about the jack LED's.

I had this happen to me when I washed my trailer I sprayed the jack direct and the light came on sort of dim in the off position. What I did was spray a lot af air on the switch to dry it out and then spray it with WD40 which helps displace moisture. It works fine now. I keep a cover over the jack head that I bought at camping world.

Here is one answer from e-trailer website:

Bulldog Powered-Drive Trailer Jack LED Light On All The Time
Question:
Hello, I have a 500187 Bulldog Electric A-Frame Jack - Black Cover - 3,500 lbs unit installed on my travel trailer. Let me start off by saying the function of the jack is great and works as expected. However, I do have one issue that I just noticed this morning: The LED on the jack is on constantly albeit dimly even when the LED power switch on the jack is turned off. Is there any way I can fix this issue? I am worried about the LED on the jack running down my battery on my travel trailer when I am not connected to AC power or dont have my battery disconnected. Thanks

I spoke with my contact at Bulldog about the problem you are having with your Bulldog Powered-Drive Trailer Jack # BD500187. He said it is likely that the problem is with connection for the ground wires in the jack.

To check your ground connection, you will want to remove the screws holding the jack cap in place. Once you have the cap off, you will see a stud where the ground wires are attached. The nut securing the wires may need to be tightened down. My contact said that they have found that some of the nuts securing the ground wires on these jacks were not tightened down enough.

If this does not fix the issue, I will be happy to look into further troubleshooting steps for you.
