Emergency Repair Kits

Hello to all. As a newbie to RVing, I'm interested in hearing what fellow RVers pack along with them for emergency repairs. Things like water line repair parts, fuses, tire repair kits, 12v air compressor, etc. We will be making a 6 week cross country trip later this year and I'd like to start putting something together. I've got a 2015 Rockwood Mini, 2401.

Thanks

Larry

Check to see if your can use anything from your tow truck on the trailer. My last trailer had the same size lug nuts as the truck so didn't need to buy another one. My new trailer's not the same size as the Tundra BUT the truck has a nice bottle-jack that I can use on the trailer.

Even though our trailer is pretty new, we have road insurance with Good Sam. It's reasonably prices and has good ratings and recommendations. (It's like AAA but specifically geared toward RVs and had various levels you can sign up for.)

Back on topic....I thought of the worst case scenario for breaking down and put together a kit with nighttime reflector vests, flashlights, rain ponchos, road hazard flares and road markers, etc. I even put in one of those flashlights that strap to your forehead because I had one in my garage. (I think one of the kids gave it to me as a Christmas gift but that thing is pretty handy when it's dark and you need both hands to work on something!)

I keep a 5' section of PEX tubing, splices, 90's, tubing cutter, rings, crimp tool and shark bites for water line repairs.
Torque wrench and correct socket for lug nut torque checks and tire replacement if needed.
A generic 140 piece tool kit with SAE and Metric sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers and so on.
4' aluminum step ladder for checking and cleaning off slide before leaving.
If and when something comes up that I am not prepared for I will write it down to add later or unhook and go get if needed right then.

Good idea on the 12v air compressor. I keep this one in my truck at all times and love it.

Make sure you get the type that clamps directly to the battery. They seem to be more powerful than ones that just plug into a cigarette lighter. Plus you can run it from you RV battery. The other type may not reach from inside your truck.

All the above plus I now carry a 12Volt battery charger. Power converter went bad one time.

Emergency Repair Kits

Fuses a must!

I also carry a "jump box" for the others campers with dead batteries.
Jump started 2 mini vans, one H2, and one class c which he ran down ALL his batteries- he was cynical that I was going to blow something up but quickly changed his tune once we got his generator jumped!

Lol I got mine when my daughters Saturn hit around 15-years old...what a hunk of junk. Glad she finally traded it in for a Mazda van.

X2 on the jump box. Mine also has a light and an air compressor built in. I use the compressor a lot more than the jump box (riding mower, small trailers, etc... Always lose air when the temp changes). My new 5er runs off the truck so even when I ran the battery dead, I was able to use landing gear and close slides off the truck. My old one didn't and the jump box came in handy.

100 feet of 550 para cord, not the stuff you get at Walmart or the Sportsmans WHSE.

Package of JB Weld.

1-1/2 ton come along.
