All of the campgrounds that we have been to so far this year here in Ohio have been packed full. Mind you that none have been State parks. They are the campgrounds with pools, waterslides, lots of ammenities and activities for kids, families and that sort of thing that campers with kids frequent.

In Mo/IL so far this year they have been roughly at 75% over the weekends, I have started trying to say Sat/Sunday nights to have one night without the crowds. Something oddly entertaining about watching everyone load up in Sunday

Yes, we have started staying through until Mondays. Not sure why the campgrounds don't have a later checkout time like say 5 p.m. Some campers load up and are gone by 8 or 9 a.m. I want to relax and enjoy the day. Drive around the campground. You can pick up quite the load of firewood left behind.

I like the Army Corp CGs around here vs the State Parks because they have a 3pm check out vs 1pm. It gives us time to sleep in if we want and then have lunch before pulling out.

There have been times where we'll pay an extra day for Sunday night and pull out late Sunday evening instead.
