etrailer disappointment kind of long

I'm leaving on a trip on Sept 16 and needed 2 propane extension hoses 4' long (for cooking outside). I found the hoses on etrailer and ordered them on 1 Sept expecting them within a week or so.

To my surprise I found the etrailer lists products on their web site for sale that they do not have. they did offer to update my shipping method to 2day for $75 additional. Below is the sequence of events.

1 Sept order 2 propane hoses cost with shipping $50
1 Sept email from etrailer your order is in transit to our distribution center
5 Sept etrailer our shipment of propane hoses has not arrived from Mfg
5 Sept etrailer if you need to change shipping method let us know
10 Sept etrailer tracking info scheduled to arrive 17 Sept I leave 16 Sept

etrailer features good products with that said before I buy again I will make sure they actually have the product in stock or can guarantee a drop shipment from the Manufacture in a timely manner. Selling items they don't have or can't drop ship is kind of lame.

OK rant over, time to finish packing the rig.

I love etrailer, but their shipping and notifications are the one nit I have against them.

If I order something time sensitive, I always call them to make sure they can get it to me in time, or I buy it somewhere else that can.

Did your hoses say "In Stock" or not?

If they didn't say "In Stock," shame on you. If they did, shame on etrailer.

Thanks had I been looking at more then one item I may have picked up on that, however all I saw was add to cart which I'm sure you have noticed is on both of your examples. So I guess both of us need to read closer

Im sure someone local could make them up for you. Could also have them shipped to a destination your going to. Fortunately you don't need them to move the trailer. Enjoy the trip

Yep...

Same here. I recently inquired about an "emergency" handle for an off brand power tongue lift...they gave great advice, did some research for me & I was about to order from them 'til I "saw" that it'd be several weeks before expected shipment...found/ordered on Ebay & had in 2 days. I really do love etrailer & they're my go-to first for virtually everything. That said, it's important to verify that it's "in stock" & get their commitment that it's to be shipped. When they do ship it's almost like they have a special deal with the shippers as the order really zips across the Country in a hurry!

Local propane companies usually have them or can make them for you. They will also usually test them, before they hand them over to you. You walk out with the hoses.

X3 on Amazon.
Or Academy in-store (but I live in a city with Academy <3 miles away). I wouldn’t have even thought about e-trailer for propane hoses!

They offered multiple times to allow you to change shipping methods and you declined.

I get it next day from them with standard shipping....

As far as them not having everything in stock.. they don’t stock most of the model specific stuff there. Such as bed covers and ladder racks. It’s all drop shipped.

I've only had issues with eTrailer on one order and it was resolved.

I had ordered some replacement brake assemblies (backing, brakes, no hub). I was moving from manual adjustment to the self adjusting. They called me the next day and told me they only had 2 in stock where I had ordered a set of 4, and it would be about a month until new stock arrived. They offered me a discount on the Dexter Axle models (basically split the difference on the eTrailer generic and the Dexter ones) so I ended up with a set of 4 of the Dexters.

My main point is they did not just email me, they actually called me and offered to cancel the order, allow me to wait on the discounted ones, or upgrade to the Dexters.

Not sure what you mean. I circled the top one because it said "in stock" and I circled the bottom one because it did not. In other words, you should be able to tell the difference, if you're paying attention.

Also, if you open each item separately, just below the "add to cart" button, it will also say (or not say) "in stock."

The real problem is the items not in stock should SAY "not in stock," not just remove the "in stock" words. Maybe a comment you should make when they send you their survey email.

Never again etrailer

I bought a set of LED awning lights from them. Kind of expensive at $70 but they touted them as being really good. Within ten minutes after installing them some of the lights wouldn’t work. Called and they sent me another set, but they needed the old set back for a refund. When I got the replacement set I tested them and they seemed good. Took the first set down and installed the second set. Within a day they did the same thing the first set did. Etrailer customer service not very apologetic just said to send them back for a refund. I’ve left the second set on partially functional because it’s a PIA to remove and install, especially in south Alabama mid summer. I’ll never buy anything from them again.

Monday evening I called etrailer looking for a motor to replace my rear stabilizer jack motor that died, ( 2018 Wildcat 29RLX)??
I talked to Tim and we looked at the dimensions and the two different motors they sell to pick the correct replacement. We settled on part #LC352338 and it was $313.00 on Monday night. I had the old unit in the house as I was talking to Tim and all the measurements were good except the slot in the shaft of my motor was wider than the 1/8" called out on the new replacement, so we agreed to talk again when he came on duty at 11:00AM Tues. morning. I went out to look at the male end of the shaft to double check the dimension and make sure the motor would work and it would in fact. Called him at 11:10 AM the next day and said it would work and he put the order in and said it would be $355 with tax. After some discussion as to the amount of tax I found out the price had gone up to $342 over night. Needless to say I did not order the part and will take a break from buying from etrailer in the future.
I have spent well over $2000 with them in the last two years but not again unless I am forced.
(my 2 cents worth)

Same here! I like doing business with them, one of my favorite vendors. They are very prompt to advise you of shipping, delivery doing follow up. It seems to be more of a personal touch than with other on line retailers.
