Yeah, it should have been NO NO NO! Especially after just soaking close to $1K in a new A/C! But, she had my best interests at heart - power tongue jack, power awning, power stab jacks, didn't have to drop the bunks, etc. After all, I am just shy of early Social Security!

We really looked at RV shows and a lot of internet before we made the deal. The bottom line our local dealer 80 miles away made us a great offer and the service came with it.

I wasn't planning on buying it on the spot. just to show her the one I had found. but we had spent many nights online looking at different brands of toyhaulers and floor plans. things just progressed quicker then I though.

I know she loves it when her and my mom went shopping and she came back saying she had bought a new shower head for the camper.

Do what I have...I have joined the OC/Herk/Elind/Aquaman/Turbs/RVChick/Weezer crew and modded our rig out so much that it would be too painful to upgrade to another unit

OK, Well, if we DO it will be a damn Berkie and that will be that

I made the mistake of going in a CW 3 years ago to buy "toys" while the BOSS went outside to walk around. A week later we were signing papers at our local dealer.

The insurance on the TT is bad but the tag is ridiculous. Especially since it is on the road only 3-4 times a year.

My TT is now 3 years old and the tag last month was $329.

Have a friend who last year, bought a 43' Landmark 5W and paid over $1900! Of course, his is much more swankier than mine and longer and heavier.

Whoah there hoss. I can't lay claim to any mods more complicated than hanging a few 3M hooks and decals...i.e. interior decorations.

The down and dirty mods have been made totally by Sneak (DH) and OC!

The same for our first fiver in 2010. Ordered after months of looking. We'd stop and look in other states just to walk the dog and see what's new. On the current fiver, we shopped a year or more and tried to find it local, couldnt , so we dealt with dealer in longview Texas where dw's friend works. Made a deal by email and drove 200 miles to get it. Nothing spontaneous on big money deals for me.
BTW. Bought my TV from dealer in McKenny Texas 260 miles. Best deal I could find.
It wasn't an impulse but more a result of going to the rv shows and seeing a 5er we were in love with over and over again. We loved the sabre brand tt and 5ers from the beginning, we just didn't have the TV and swore we'd keep the old tt 10 yrs. Yeah right. Then when we bought the F250 diesel we thought we had enough truck for an upgrade. Nope, kept the tt longer since the TV couldn't do it. Then the TV had problems so we gave in to our hearts and got what we should have in the first pkacee. So finally I learned how to plan ahead properly and match the truck capabilities to the 5er of our dreams. Bottom line, bite the bullet in the beginning and avoid the expense of all the upgrades. Well, that's one way to convince the DH that a high end rig really is saving us money.
