expensive day at dealership

my wife and I decided to go look at a forest river vengeance 312a I had found a few weeks earlier. well the salesman told me it had sold a week after I was there. So I said that is fine is do you have anything in that is similar. He showed us a vengeance 320a SS. my wife fell in love with it instantly. so the end of next month we are going to go pick it up.

(chuckle) Yep, we took our 8 month old V-Lite (bumper pull) in for warranty service back in December...DH said "let's go look at 5th wheels just for kicks."

Picked up the new 5er January 4th.

He is now *banned* from our dealer's sales lot!

And...I banned myself also!

Yup. I'm banned from RV shows and dealership lots. We ended up upgrading both the truck and trailer this year because we fell in love with the sabre line and the idea of a 5er. Traded a 2009 truck that we owned 2 yrs and sold a 2011 tt that we owned 3 yrs to make that happen. Congrats on the new vengeance. Now stay away from dealer lots!

Just bought a brand new Chev CC 1500 last July to pull my Lacrosse 301rls TT. Went to the rally at Goshen just after setting up the truck for the trip. Well-l-l-l, at the rally DW found the 5er (a Wildcat 327ck) that she would die for. I told her that the new truck won't pull it, I haven't made the first payment on the truck, it's not going to happen!!!!! Fast forward 6 months, I'm at the RV dealer and BAMM, I doing the paper work on a new Wildcat 327 ck. The next thing I remember I'm at the GMC dealer trading in my Chev 1500 for a new GMC CC 2500 Duramax. It snowed for another 2 months and I was starting wonder ' did I really do this?' But then the call came in that my old TT was ready to get out of storage and time to pick up the new 5er. It happened so quick!!!!

I had a similar experience... We took our Rockwood Roo 23SS to a dealer to have a new A/C installed. When we went back to pick the Roo up, I was finishing up with the service and parts departments and called my wife to ask where on the lot she may be. Her reply? "Looking at our new trailer".

Yeah. A month later we picked up the Flagstaff.

expensive day at dealership

Ha, back in September 2012 while out camping I went to the dealer to buy a couple of gallons of antifreeze. The DW saw an 8315BSS and the following week week took possession. I then had to go and still buy the antifreeze so I could re-winterize the rig after the 2 night shakedown trip.

The following February, while killing time waiting for a hospital appointment, we wandered around the local RV show for an hour. The DW found a new Cedar Creek 38FL on a very good deal and fell in love with it. We had to bite the bullet on this because we didn't have a truck. Two months later she stacked the van into the rear end of someone else and wrote it off. We the purchased an F350 dually. After that we towed the 8315 around for a season until the dealer got a new CC 38FL which we took possession of at Easter this year.

She now cringes every I look at a tag axle 45' class A diesel pusher. Having said that, I think I've reached my limit because I am very, very happy with the CC.

Its funny reading these stories. DW and I are not like that. We shopped our first TT in 2005 for 8 months including several RV shows and when we settled on one, we spec-ed it out and ordered it. The same for our first fiver in 2010. Ordered after months of looking. We'd stop and look in other states just to walk the dog and see what's new. On the current fiver, we shopped a year or more and tried to find it local, couldnt , so we dealt with dealer in longview Texas where dw's friend works. Made a deal by email and drove 200 miles to get it. Nothing spontaneous on big money deals for me.
BTW. Bought my TV from dealer in McKenny Texas 260 miles. Best deal I could find.
