Worked on the gens today, still waiting on some parts. I went ahead and mocked up the tee and added a fuel filter.
The factory fuel line is 3/16", or 5mm since it is made in China. I'm using 1/4" fuel line to the tee from external tank, and tee to carb. I will replace the worm hose clamps with pinch(ear) clamps on final fit.
The fuel filter is a 3/16" from my Arctic Cat ATV. I ordered it for the ATV and was going to replace it today and decided to use in on the gen. Got to order two more now.
I tested the gen under heavy load to test the flow of filter and it works great. It will flow enough fuel for the 400cc Arctic Cat, it's over kill for the 80cc gen engine.
More to come when parts arrive......

Finished the extended run setup today and tested. Everything works great! I parked the RV in the driveway and turned on the AC. I ran it for a little over a hour and worked flawlessly.
It was raining outside so I set the gens and tank in the garage so I can monitor without getting wet. The quick disconnects are great. They stop the flow of fuel when disconnected.
The real test will be this coming weekend when we will dry camp Friday through Sunday. I will report back when I get a couple of days of running with the tank.
PS....Disregard the messy garage. The kids wanted to play outside and it was raining so we played in the garage. I'm usually a neat freak with garage organization because I hate searching 15 minutes for a tool that I only use for two minutes!

Update.....
This past weekend we dry camped Friday through Sunday. We were at a Truck Rally so running gens 24 hrs was not a problem. Got camp set up and started gens at 11:00am Friday morning and didn't shut them down till Sunday around noon.
Worked flawlessly! I'm guessing the gens used 6-8 gallons of gas.
Sorry for sideways pic. I need to remember if I take a pic for the forum I need to hold my cell horizontal.

Update....
I have around 200+ hours on this setup with no problems. It will run all weekend without refueling. If the AC is running non stop, I have to add a few gallons to finish out the weekend.
On a side note.....
Clean your spark arrestor screens. There are two on the Champion. One nickel size external and a cone shaped internal that sits inside the muffler. I have cleaned the external roughly every 100 hrs, did not know there is an internal screen.
The last trip out one generator had a hard time revving from idle under load and would cause other generator to go into overload.
Internal screen....
After cleaning...

This looks interesting:

I like the metal cap, looks like it could work. I'd probably fashion some bracketry to support the tank on top of the generator.

If you are talking about the IQ 2000 model I have two I use in parallel. They would not run a 15k AC unit reliably, believe it or not these units draw upwards of 40 amps when they start. The IQ's don't respond quickly enough to load changes, which I'm going to check into while they are in warranty. The AC also cycles off and on before the set temp is reached. I had to add one of these:

After that "mod" the IQ's will run the air but I would recommend you bite the bullet and get the Honda's unless they would be for backup only. The 40 plus amp start current happens very quickly which is why it doesn't kick a breaker. The Microair would probably be a good idea regardless as it reduces the startup current to about half. Also, the AC can be run with 1 Honda 2000 if you use the MicroAir mod. It will run the AC ONLY though, no other loads.

I never had an issue running a 15K AC on parallel gens. The champions will power it up in ECO mode. I hard start capacitor will help, so will a soft start. Either mod will help the gens take the start up load of the compressor.

A hard start cap supplies more energy but does not reduce the start current.

But the desired outcome is the same for substantially less $$$.
