Extended warranty,GET IT!!!

I suggest if you buy a new RV, purchase the extended warranty. Several months back my A/C had to be replaced. Yesterday I go into the camper to put the washer board game back in the garage and as soon as I opened the door the pungent aroma of ammonia punched me in the face. Yep, you guessed it cooling unit on refrigerator took a dump....literally. With that being said the cost to replace the A/C was $50.00. The cost to replace the cooling unit on the fridge will be $50.00 as well. Extended warranty is well worth it, my has already paid for itself.

I have the extended warranty but my dealer isn't smart enough to work on my 5er. They couldn't fix the simplest of issues with our new 5er. I do all my repairs myself. I need to send FR a bill for all their product and build issues I've had to repair.
Glad your dealer is a good one ours sure isn't and will never return to them again.

I had the same problem with the dealer where the camper was bought. The service manager at the time lied to me so I no longer use them(starts with a p ends with eaux). I have been using Southern RV for the last couple of years and they are 100% better.

I was once never a fan and then I needed one...

Then there was me buying one on a used car and getting more than 10X the price I paid for it in repairs.

When it came down to the warranty on the TT I thought about not getting it, and then I realized it was a small price to pay (not that small really) for the peace of mind it offers.

I can tell you we bought an extended warranty when we bought our 2012 Silverback from Tri am rv. Sales man told us it was the best out there and covered every thing. Well had problem with bedroom a/c,control panel on frig and seal on slide falling apart. Well they tell us it doesn't cover trouble shooting problem. They told us it was loose wires on the a/c and frig and not covered. The seal was the only thing covered and cost us $50. They told us we owed them $250 for the trouble shooting. So $300 bucks for nothing. I guess its great if it obvious problem but otherwise they aren't worth the paper its written on!

Wow the only time we have had a camper back for warranty work was once each for extremely minor cosmetic things........... Our current 2013 camper has not been back to the dealer for any work that would fall under an extended warranty. Its well over 3 years now a extended warranty for us would have been a waste of money.

We bought or 2006 in 2007 & never had it back to the dealer for any "work" just service.

For $150 it's a pretty good investment to extend for an additional year and it is offered by FR. Later RJD

To clarify The FR one year extended warranty on TT is a good deal for non mechanical people. The fancy expensive 3rd party warranties dealers offer are usually just added profit.

well I'm mechanical inclined but why should I do there work. (I will do some minor) Not going to happen till the warranty is gone. Also I doubt one could fix an AC or frig if it goes bad. Later RJD

I would prefer to do the work on my RV than have the dealer do it unless it is something I can't do. Don' want to give it up for half the season and have it possibly damaged while being jockeyed around in a crowded lot. I replaced an AC on my last TT cost me $800 and 4 hrs. still better than a $2000 warranty.

I know where your from! I've heard a lot of bad reviews about that dealer also. So I stayed away from them.

Just purchased my Silverback and are trying to decide if we should get the dealer warranty or an aftermarket warranty. Or not get it all together.

Sound advice! I went with Wholesale Warranty at the 12-month of ownership and never looked back. I used to have Good Sams Roadside assistance but changed to Coach Net because of their great reputation and added services with a premium account.

Ouch, at the moment I cant recall what extended warranty we have but we have never paid over $50. When the A/C went out they had to troubleshoot it for several hours.

I am one that believes in peace of mind. I think the extended warranty was $1700 and I have a total of 7 years of warranty. As of now I have warranty for 3 more years. Well worth it to me because it paid for itself and the piece of mind I have.
