Exterior bathroom door... or not?

My wife and I are considering trailers with an exterior bathroom door, as pictured in this Puma trailer below:



I'm wondering what pros and cons would come from having such a setup. What comes to my mind is:

Pros:
Great for boondocking on BLM land, etc with friends that don't have trailers. They can come in and use your bathroom without traipsing through your whole trailer.

Your bathroom could serve somewhat as a mudroom for dirty kids. They can come in, you can wash them down before they come any further into the trailer. Yes, there are outside showers, but sometimes it would just be convenient to strip the kid and throw them straight in the tub, mud sand & all.

Cons:
The bathroom is much more visible now, and you may have more requests to use your bathroom from people you don't know, perhaps even just out of convenience because yours is closer.

You may forget to lock the outside bathroom door and whoops, someone else, maybe not even in your family, opens the door on you! Yikes!!!

When we were looking this was a big plus for the dear wife because of your two pros. We eventually settled on a smaller hybrid rather than a fully enclosed travel trailer so she did not get it but she still loves the idea

I would prefer the door in the bedroom area. In case of an emergency it is easier to go out a door then try and climb out the egress window.

He's already got a door in the bedroom on that tt

On the trailer I see a bedroom area in the back for the kids or guests. The bunk beds are also a bedroom area.

I love our door in the bathroom. Keeps the mess down on the inside of the trailer. We put a big rug on the floor so that we dont have to take our shoes off to go inside. And it really is handy with a three year old and potty training. I would never buy another trailer without it.

The pros you listed far outway the cons. For a family with kids it's a 'must have' IMHO.

I agree with Wiscampsin (and not because I am also from WI)...the outdoor entrance to the bathroom is a "must have" for kids. It was one of the biggest factors in our decision of which trailer to purchase (Wildwood 32BHDS). I can't imagine not having it now.

I am glad we went with the rear bath entrance floor plan, and not just because we have kids. It makes for a great door to run in to get to the fridge as well (for another beer of course) without walking through the whole camper. We have yet to have a con with an extra door. When you go in, you just lock it (I try to leave it open for an more open, natural experience, but the GF always tells me to close it ) like a Port-a-potty, just not as nasty...

Pro:
You can still get to the bathroom in an emergency if the slides are in.
