My RV came with a gas grill which attaches to a rail along the wall of the RV. I have been reluctant to use the grill for fear of either burning/staining/scorching the fiberglass or getting grease on it or the awning above. Do you use yours? I know I have many other options - just want experience with this type of grill mounting.

We had one of those years ago and I didn't have the guts either.
Even though the chances of ruining the side of your RV are probably slim but who wants the grease and grime on the side of the trailer and under the awning.
I fabricated a tabletop stand that served us well for many years.

I too got an RVQ grill with my camper. I had the same feeling and decided not to use it. I bought a Weber Q to use instead.

Before I bought my Surveyor, I had a Keystone tow behind that had this grill configuration too. Like Cypressloser said, I didn't have the guts either. When I traded the trailer in for my 5er, the grill had never been used.

Been using one on 2 different campers for 6 yrs and no grease on the campers and no heat problems. The grills sit far enough away not to cause a problem and we always use them under the awning.

Used one all last year with no problem to the trailer or awning. The outdoor carpet on the other hand would collect grease that dripped, so watch out for that.

We quit using it this year because I upgrade to a Camp Chef. The sidekick that came with the camper had uneven heat and while it worked, my tax return allowed me to get something better.

Me too on two different trailers, just couldn't do it. Weber Q Weber Q 1000 Portable Propane Gas Grill-50060001 at The Home Depot with folding stand Weber Q Portable Grill Cart-6557 at The Home Depot is awesome! Got a adaptor hose Weber 6 ft. Adapter Hose for Q Series and Gas Go-Anywhere Grills-6501 at The Home Depot and a T manifold that attaches to one of my dual tanks without affecting its use 90° Brass Propane Tee Connector #59133

Ditto OC ....we have used ours at least 25 times and have had no issues whatsoever. My only concern is that the BBQ is kinda cheaply made and I have really been trying to keep it clean so as to not have a nice greasy mess in the basement. I worry it will not really stand up to a lot of heavy cleaning wiping ....it works just fine but seems worth about $40.00.

This question comes up every so often. If you search the forums for RVQ, you'll find lots of posts. But rest assured, there is no problems using it. We used ours extensively, with the awning, and without it. It worked great for us. We did not get one with our 5th wheel, and I do miss it. Here is a picture from our old Skamper.

Our trailer has an LP stove the OK. One time someone brought some 2% lean HB meat.... I thought I never would get the grease off that thing(stove and slide deal). Spitter spatter pop pop.

Too bad I don't live closer to TX.... I'd trade you a brand new RVQ for something.

I had used the RVQ with our '08 Roo, but got away from it due to the clean-up. I'd just as soon use the campfire to grill or a propane stove to fry/cook. Never did, however, have a problem with heat and/or grease when using the RVQ on the side of the Roo.

I actually have an RVQ, but haven't had the gumption to get it all set up on the 5er. I've found that cleaning the Coleman grill we have now to be as much a hassle as the RVQ. Well, my wife does anyway...she usually cleans it.

Our first Flagstaff 5er came with this lash up. First trip out, I actually hooked it all up and attempted to cook some hot dogs. Didn't have very good results because it appeared to have a relatively low BTU output. Gave it away and have been happy with our Weber Q200. I was also not comfortable, like so many, with the proximity to the wall of the RV.....

I too have a outside grill and I don't thinks its safe on the side of the camper. I bought an extension gas hose and put the grill on a table away from the camper. Works great.

We used ours quite a bit and started to notice the wall behind it starting to distort. I was garage sale shopping and found an excellent Weber Q grill for 10 dollars and it works better than the hang on one.

We used ours on our 08Flagstaff and on our 12Flagstaff for a combined usage of 6 years and never had any indication of heat on the side of the camper or the awning which is always out when using the grill.

I used one for the first couple of uses but wuit b/c the grill is a piece of junk. No problem with the camper tho.

I have been using one for the last 2 seasons and so far so good. I don't heat it too high and I don't leave it alone. It does get a lot of grease inside and can drip so watch your rug or table or anything else you put under it.
