They probably would, but those who were charged would have to request a reimbursement.

Few years ago The Ohio Turnpike added an additional charge for bicycles carried on auto roof tops!!!!! I was told this and did not believe it. I called the Turnpike and they said YES they did but no longer do this. Can you believe this practice. I was not given the rational for their bicycle fee

Years ago, I was going on a ferry with my pop-up behind my pickup. They wanted to charge me overheight fees because of my mirror-mounted 4 ft CB antennas. I folded them down to avoid the charge. They put me in a truck bay with about 20ft clearance anyway. Government ferry....province of Ontario.....beaurocracy run amok!!!!
