Silly Diesel Question in regards to the Fuel/Water superstar on a 2016 F350 PS 6.7?

Read up in your owner's manual.

How often do you check it?

Drain every time the oil is changed to check for any contamination.

What do you do when you check it?

Drain into a clean pan. Water and fuel oil does not mix so it will show up in the pan.

When there is water in the fuel? How do you get rid of it?

If it's just a little in a pan it's not a big deal. If your light is on and you have a large quantity of water then the tank should be drained to assure all the water is removed.

ONLY USE MOTORCRAFT FILTERS.

I did but just wanted to see how everyone else is checking things, some say check every month some say only when you change your oil?

First newer diesel for me so I want to be sure, I have 1600 on it now just went to the dealer so they say bring it in when oil monitor says 25% they will not change it before that, and I bought Blue DEF from Walmart so as time goes on I will get better at maintenance but for now everything covered through Ford except wearable items like pads, belts and filters.

Thanks for all the info

Hey ForScan users...check out the DPF Load percentage. It shows 122.9%. How can you have more than 100%? Kinda strange, huh? Do y'all see numbers like this?

Yup, nobody knows the exact formula that Ford uses. All 3rd party apps go above 100%. Only true gauge is adding it to your productivity screen which many of us have done now.

Thanks. BTW, today was the longest regen I have experienced to date. It took 24 miles! However, that was all on a mountainous type road with a lot of winding turns, climbing and descending. Accelerating and decelerating the whole time.

Too funny, guys! Go to post #33 on page 4. This is a pretty cool and inexpensive tool for monitoring your truck. You can monitor the computers that control the engine, transmission, environmental, etc. I think there are 9 different computers. There are hundreds of points you can monitor and you can read any fault codes. Between the software, the tablet and the OBDII adapter, I only have about $60 invested.
