F350 Diesel Question

I run 65 all around both towing and dry. Lots of capacity for the load I tow.

Yep changed all 4 today to 65 and will run them like that all the time, no reason to kick them to 80 only towing a 5500# Rockwood Roo Hybrid, towed fine when they were 65 in the rear and 55 up front. Dealer put them at 65 all around when they had to replace my Michelins under warranty. Apparently Ford was using 2014 tires on my 16 F350, they replaced all 4 to 2016's under warranty bc the old ones had dry rot.

I run 10k Fiver on 65 psi. The temp on front and back tires the same. I ran 65 PSI hauling the same trailer with the F 150 and has no issues. I did try 75 and shook all over with the fiver. The load charts shows 65 being just fine.

It's not the Bluetooth one you need. iPhone stuff works on WiFi. You need this one below.

Can you use a Bluetooth version otherwise you have to turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot to use the wireless one on an iPad? Right?

You should hopefully be close to 20ms response time.

I'm getting about 110 ms ping. The tech at Forscan told me about another URL that I might be able to use to access my adapter. He also said a blue tooth adapter like OBDLink MX Bluetooth works better with Android computers. and WiFi adapters work better with Apple phones and tablets.

Also, if you haven't yet, you will need to change the temperature settings to show Fahrenheit instead of Celsius as the default is Celsius. Yup, I did that.

See if it continues to give you a hard time.. if you keep the adapter plugged in which I believe I stated earlier I've kept it plugged in for over a week without using my truck with no battery drain issues. That may help...

Also one thing to note is that when you tap the connect button you need to wait for the car symbol to turn green. It will go from red (not connected) to yellow/orange (connecting and communicating with each module) to green (ready to start monitoring). I didn't know about the color change. I'll watch for that.

See here, the car is yellow/orange due to the computer modules just starting to load.



And then green once you are ready to go.



Makes you wonder why anyone would spend $400 for a monitor when for under $125 you can have an 8" tablet and all the hardware you need. FAR superior to any monitor on the market.

Yup. I think I'm only out about $60.00 and mine works OK. If I can get the ping time down some, I'll be happy!

APPLE STUFF= WIFI

You're only using WiFi signal to communicate from the device to the OBDII port. It's not for Internet connection.

The reason I got a tablet to do it is because when my phone is connected to my wifi adapter, I then lose my 4G radio in the phone so I don't get emails or can't browse the internet.

So I use my tablet instead. When you plug the OBDII adapter in, it automatically creates a small wifi signal. You then search on your phone/tablet for the wifi network and connect to it and you start communicating.

Do yourself a favor, go to Ford and buy their nozzle for the DEF containers. They fit on the 2.5 gallon jugs that you buy at Walmart. It prevents you from overflow or spillage and runs about $7.

Well worth it!!





You see the black o-ring... that snaps into the DEF neck and locks in so it won't spill. You tip the bottle up, it pours in and once it reaches the full mark, when you tip the bottle back down, all extra goes right back into container. No spillage or worrying about it shooting back at you.

110ms is a crap connection.. you definitely need to get that down for your gauges to act like real gauges (smooth and precise).

I've always been around 19-22ms so I don't know what to do to help improve it. I know you emailed Forscan but not sure if you ever checked out their website.

Silly Diesel Question in regards to the Fuel/Water superstar on a 2016 F350 PS 6.7?

How often do you check it?

What do you do when you check it?

Because of previous high pressure fuel pump issues (CP3? or CP4) on earlier 6.7's and Fords reluctance to warranty those pumps if a bit of rust is found on injectors and other parts, I drain my fuel filter/water separater every 5k miles.

My ultimate goal is to install a Dieselsite or FASS inline filter system to capture all of the water.

I wish there was a easy way to get to my Dmax fuel filter. My 12 Silverado 3500 has to be put on a lift, unless you take a lot of stuff off first

I looked at a GMC 3500 but don't like where the DEf tank is located under the passenger seat hangs very low and wondered if anyone has ever taken one out since they hang low.

Well my check engine light came on and it said something was wrong with the sensor in the DEF tank, had to replace the tank. I had just put cheap Walmart DEF fluid in

Read up in your owner's manual.


How often do you check it?

Drain every time the oil is changed to check for any contamination.


What do you do when you check it?

Drain into a clean pan. Water and fuel oil does not mix so it will show up in the pan.


When there is water in the fuel? How do you get rid of it?

If it's just a little in a pan it's not a big deal. If your light is on and you have a large quantity of water then the tank should be drained to assure all the water is removed.

ONLY USE MOTORCRAFT FILTERS.

Water separator is supposed to be drained once a month per Ford for the 6.7.

I have the Dieselsite filter instalied.
