Factory pictures and or Video

Does anyone know if there are pictures and or video available of the Forest River Factories?

I think it would be neat with out actually traveling to Indiana, to see these trailers being made.

sorry the Amish don't like to be video taped!(I'm kidding). I live close to the factory and have been there several time (was there last week) and still have not taken a tour, I really would like to do one but usually I don't have the time. Let me know if anyone comes out and I will try to meet you there

Forest River trailers are built in other locations than Indiana. If you are closer to the west coast they have a factory in the Salem Oregon area. Our friends took a trip down and got a tour of the factory and watched the rigs being built. They were treated really well and were very impressed. After the tour they came home and bought a "yet to be built" Sierra 5er and will be trading in their smaller Sierra when it arrives from the factory.

unfortunately I don't have a video camera. other than that I would be happy to. if I remember, next time I go I will try to get some pictures. the plant I go to is where they make the V-lites, windjammers, etc.

Speaking of factory tours, I wanted to mention that some of you in the area might want to consider the BMW plant tour near Spartanburg, SC. Right off I-85. I did it with a camping friend last week, and it was a great tour. Instead of looking at the action through glass, as in some plant tours, you get right out on the plant floor in safe areas. They also have a really cool museum there. The museum, itself, is worth the stop. It's free. The guided tour is $7.

The Georgetown motorhomes and the Cardinal 5th wheels are made in the same plant around Goshin In. The tours are done in the afternoon after the workers have left for the day. There are two assembly lines , one for the Cardinals and the other for the Georgetowns. When completed, they are sent to another plant for the exterior painting. Since we were interested in the Georgetowns, they followed this sequence of construction: Frame came in with lower storage frames welded to the floor frame. Then came the floor makeup, then the two side walls were framed using steel supports were raised and secured to the floor. All interior work was done at this point. Then the roof was lowered to the coach and secured to the side walls. The front and back caps were finally added to complete the coach. The sides were constructed at another plant and brought in complete. The roof was manufactured adjacent to the assembly lines. The floor frame had all of the Hydralic arms and hoses for the slides installed before the wooden floor was lowered onto the steel frame. We were impressed with the construction. We had toured other manufacture plants in the area, Jaco, Keystone and Newmar, and we thought the construction of the Forest River products was a little better.
The tours normally run after the workers have left (Amish) and gone back to their farms in the afternoons. They said it was for safety. We forgot our camera on this trip. But Keystone let us take it inside their plant and I'm sure Forest River would do the same.

We just returned from In. Wed. Had to bring our MH there for service, the tour of the diesel division was impressive. You go right down on the floor and see unit from frame to complete units(makes you want to buy a new one, lol) The folks couldn,t be nicer.
