Fan running below fuse box.

Plugged up the travel trailer (2016 Flagstaff Micro Lite) today to recharge the battery. Notice a fan running below the fuse box. I hadn't notice it before. I am not sure what it is for or why it is running. This is the first travel trailer we have owned, so we are a little nervous about things.

That is the cooling fan for your converter at different charging loads the fan will cycle on and off that is normal

I've also recently noticed a sort of hum - maybe a fan noise - when two or more lights are on in my Salem CruiseLite. Once it's back down to one light, the noise goes away. It isn't very loud - just slightly noticeable.

WFCO uses one fan it is variable speed. If you are hearing it, if it gets louder you can replace it with a ball bearing fan. I had 2 go out. Then switched to a progressive direct replacement. It has 2 fans and I never here them come on. The fan as mentioned above dissipates the heat the convertor fins put off. The more power needed the louder the fan from the RPM...

Hidee ho

Hello, you will also notice the fan on when the heated holding tanks are on (if you have them with a glacial/thermal package) because the heating pads draw so much power.
When I changed our Surveyor over to LED lights, they draw so much less power that I can have ALL the lights on in the trailer and the fan does not come on! (I've tried it).
Happy Camping!

Well that is weird, Mine is a 2012 not a 2005 and only had one fan, I added a second fan but the bearings went out and caused the fan to become loud...I'll have to look that up, as far as I know they still have one fan on WFCO converter. will get back to this.

That is what I have on the direct replacement with the charge wizard button on the new board, but never on a 8955 WFCO, the trailer came with one fan and others that were replaced by FR came with one fan, the bearing were always bad on the one fan only so it made noise.

Glenn, that's because there's one in the main case of the distribution center and one on the main board.
They are not both on the converter chassis.
