Father/son camping

First time ever camping just my son and I. Mounds State Park in Anderson, IN. Only about 30 minutes from home. He's 7.

That is great!! Keep it up. We just came back from a week camping with our son. He is 24. He did bring his girlfriend, but that is expected, I suppose..

Way ta geaux John! You're building memories he'll cherish forever!

I'd also like to add, I did my first ever solo back-in. Nailed it.

Congrats on the backing in. My dad and I went on a yearly camping trip from when I was about 6. I'm 33 now and we've never missed a spring. When I was a teen, we added an October trip in. We've only missed one of them (stupid work).

Dad and I don't see eye to eye all the time these days- but I still look forward to each scheduled trip.

My nephew started going when he was 6. And my daughter went this year for the first time at age 9.

It's a wonderful thing!

AND- congrats on the solo backing up!

And that is the reason we camp. I started camping with my daughter more than 10 years ago and she is now 24. She still goes with me when she can but with her starting her career and joining the ranks of the working, she has not been able to go on all the trips, which bums her out. I foresee one day her coming with her little one(s) and us having a grand time.

It's the reason my wife & I got back into camping...great time spent with the kids to break the norm of everyday life & generic vacations!

Enjoy

Well, our first trip as just the two of us went great. Lots of hiking, great campfires and food, tossing the football, many rounds of corn hole, just a great weekend. And he told me on the way home we need to do this again next year. Fine with me.
