Father's day

Happy Father's Day to all the dads. I haven't made the mistakes my dad did;
He allowed me to make my own.

I wish that I would have thanked my father for teaching me so much about everything. Fixing cars, figuring out problems, how to treat people, how to enjoy nature, and the value of working your butt off and supporting your family. We started camping in 1958 in an umbrella tent and 4 kids. I have not stopped camping, just changed methods.
Dad, I hope that you know how much I appreciated you.
Love Bob & Dawn

Happy fathers day to all the dads out there. Being a dad to my two kids is the best thing ever.

My father taught me a whole bunch too. He always told me how much I helped him. I remember a lot of it too. He was the kind of man who worked on whatever broke and made do with nothing. Working on other people’s junk to make a couple bucks.

We had a garden most of my life and I do remember HAVING to work in that(1/2 acre) and all we had was a worn out little tiller. We had a bit over 2 acres and our first lawn mower was an 18” used up mower that you had to squirt oil in to get it started. We got a 20” later and I thought I was rich...yes I had to mow most of it.

My parents never camped, but they(mostly mother) loved to fish and we did a lot of that.
My mother let me skip school a few times and we went fishing.

Just got home from a Father's Day outing with my Son and Daughter. Son has gone camping with me a couple times but Daughter has yet to.

As they were growing up Camping wasn't all that interesting to them. Their interests developed in other areas.

Regardless, I feel blessed that I have a great Son and Daughter that together have provided me 5 grandchildren.

Life is good.

Happy Father's Day to all.

Our garden was more like 3 acres and had a lifetime supply of rocks.

Only had to mow a small lawn. Rest of the grass on our 10 acres was mowed by the sheep

With a hoe and a small tiller that would be a booger.

One time my grandmother had me tilling the potatoes while she held the vines back with a hoe...some kinda way I tilled her toe. Felt bad about that....she was prolly most of 70.

When my Dad found out I wanted to play guitar at 8 years old, he bought me a guitar and set me up with lessons.

I wish he could have been with me this weekend, so he could have enjoyed the results.
Here's what I spent Father's Day weekend doing. Click the Picture for the video. I'm the guy in the Viking helmet.

Started the weekend on Friday night taking my youngest daughter to her first MLB game.

Then spent Saturday and Sunday helping my parents put railings on their deck and then putting up a gazebo on it. Didn't get any pics of that though. Maybe next weekend.

My brother followed his guitar skills and I followed his mechanical skills;
Video looks like fun.

Great grandmother was giving great grandpa grief about his chewing tabacco; he missed the spittoon and got her open toed shoe.
