Favorite apps?
Hi all, I'm Writing a camping story and including some favorite smart device apps. What are yours?
Ours include AllStays Camp & RV. If you don't already have this one take a look. It has city, county, state, federal and some private campgrounds and a whole list of other locations like truck stops and Walmarts. Links reviews and websites. It's great.
Another one we love is Star Walk, a handy astronomy app for iPhones, iPods and iPads.
Petersons birds of North America is a fantastic app that even gives you bird calls. Made these novice bird watchers much better at actually figuring out what we were seeing and hearing.
Downloaded a trip budget app in preparation for our Alaska trek, called fXBudget. Hope it helps us stay on our tight budget. Also we like to stop at farmers' markets and there's a new app called EatLocal that I hope will be useful.
That's about it for my favorite camping/travel apps. How about you? Any apps that make camping more affordable or more fun. Do want to say that we don't spend our camping time hanging out on devices, but we have found these useful.

Google Sky is another one..It'll tell you what the planets are up in the sky or under your feet. Just point the screen and it'll show you what's what.. Really cool!!
