Fill in the blank...

If you were writing 10 Camping Commandments, what would you put down as one of them. Start your answer with "Thou Shall...."

Mine:
"Thou shall not unpack clothes the wife packed for herself"

I heard about that all weekend. How did I know it was going to end up being cold. If I would have known, I wouldn't have taken her sweatshirts back into the house. Just trying to save space in the closet dear did not cut it.

Thou shalt always figure out how much food and drink you will need (if not planning a top up trip to the store), then add 50% to that amount.

We found this out on our first trip - sucks when you say to yourself “hmmmm, gonna have to ration the snacks n beer”

Thou shalt chill and relax.

Not everything is going to be perfect. Don't let a 10 cent thing ruin a thousand dollar thing, i always say.

My wife and I have two rules:
1> 'Mommy' is always right.
2> When in doubt, refer to rule number ONE.

There are really only 3 rules.

Thou shalt anticipate correctly what DW wants before she even hints at it.

Thou shalt promptly get it for her, in the manner in which she expected.

Thou shalt then shut up.

Posts number 5 and number 7 are rules to live by. I know enough to when DW asks me something to say did I hear her and I say yes, even though I have no idea what she is talking about. Laugh when she laughs.

Well, we obviously need some estrogen on this post.

Thou shalt be patient and understanding when DH does not turn the proper direction when backing in.

LOL

Rules to live by....certainly #5 and especially #7... LOL!!!!

Now as far as the "10 Camping Commandments" goes.....

Thou shalt NEVER get in a hurry to do anything. For example, setting up camp, breaking down camp, pulling into a gas station (campground, Wal-mart or anywhere else), pulling out of a gas station (campground, Wal-mart or anywhere else), or doing myriad of hundreds of other things while on a camping trip. Trying to do anything in a hurry will cost you more time and more $$$ than planned.

This does not apply to #7 above...do that as quickly as husbandly possible.

Enjoy!!!

Thou shalt not infringe on your neighbor's peace and quiet. Nothing is worse than trying to sleep when you're neighbors are drunken partying around the campfire at 2 in the morning.

Thou shalt refuse any offers of neighbors assistance and/or conversations when setting up or tearing down camp.... that upset the routine.

Thou shalt say yes when the wife wants to go back into the camper to "snuggle" in the middle of the day.

Back to the original "Thou shalt rules"

Thou shalt take lots of pictures.

Thou shalt walk around you rig twice before before leaving your campsite.

Thou shalt know where the nearest Walmart is to buy what you forgot.

Be it known Murphy will always be hitching a ride with you! Plan as much as you can and always Expect the Unexpected.
It's all a part of the RV experience.
