Filthy campground behavior

We were watching two families packing up to leave. Much to our surprise we saw both of them put their sewer hose right onto the fresh water tap and rinse out their sewer hoses! If you don't already, please make sure that you use some disinfectant on the whole fresh water tap prior to hooking up your fresh water hose because you never know what the people before you did.

I carry a spray bottle with a diluted mix of bleach and water. A strong mix. I always spray before and after we hook and unhook.

X2--- I let it sit on the tap for a few minutes before connecting hose.

First thing I do is spray with bleach solution then flush the tap.. I let it sit for a couple minutes while setting up and spray again. You can never trust that the tap is clean, it is exposed to the elements when not hooked up.

I have to agree with Turbs. My DW and I run the football boosters concession stand for our boys' high school (we got an A+, by the way!). I got to spend a few minutes talking with the health inspector after our annual inspection and it is definitely not a job I would want if I ever planned on eating out ever again!! It might make the OP's post look quite tame!

My first born tendencies would tell me to go over and teach them as kindly and helpful as I can with the hope that they just don't know any better, but these days people can be so easily offended and an even worse possibility is they just wouldn't care - you can't fix stupid

And I totally agree about the restaurant thing - that's why I much prefer eating at home and with as little processed foods as possible. Then again, who doesn't like a good hotdog now and then and I refuse to think about what they may be made of!

Long story short: Do your best and leave the rest! As I look for a spray bottle to use for sanitizing the fresh water tap

Why not just use a spray bottle with a good detergent? Every time I mess with bleach my clothes end up looking just awful (and DW gets to laugh at me).

Because bleach solution kills things detergent doesn't, and does it faster?

Try Standing upwind when dealing with bleach...

Sorry couldn't resist, because the same thing has happened to me and that's what the DW told me!
