Finally here!!!!!
Wasn't sure where to post this but gotta tell y'all!
New 2015 Sandpiper 355RE is home! Short notice, but did pdi this afternoon.
For those that have helped with many questions: love the b&w 3500 companion hitch! Walk through was great, the form really helped Doug! Pulled easily at up to 65mph. The RAILROAD tracks were no problem! The four bad turns(in my neighborhood) I'd been stressing over, no problem. Big difference from TT in the turns, and backing, but I see no problem in adjusting! (I too look forward to impressing bystanders!)
Truck sat down on upper load spring and no more. I'll post some pics of first hitch up, and camper set up later in this thread, when I figure out how!
Thanks everyone for the excellent advice, and understanding some(admit it!) dumb questions!
Camp On!

Congrats! Weren't you the one concerned about the 5er dragging over tracks entering your neighborhood? Is that what you were meaning by the railroad tracks?

Yes! Circumstances allowed my wife to follow me, and the only concern was the landing gear. All is good!!! Thanks !

Yeah, railroad tracks can be a bit scary sometimes. Especially when you see a sign like this in an unfamiliar place, at night, following the guidance of your GPS.....

Not that I experienced this last Sunday at 9:00 p.m. or anything......
Congrats on the new 5vr!!!!!

My wife and I are think about buying a sandpiper 355re. My concern is that it is too much camper for my truck. The camper has a dry weight of 12080 with a max of 15500. My truck is a 2007 ram 2500hd with 6.7 diesel. The dealer says I can pull 17100 lbs but all that I have read on the internet is my max pulling is 13000. I see some of you are pulling yours with a 2500 GMC or Chevy. Is there someone out there pulling one of these trailer with a similar truck that could put me at ease or should I break the news to my wife and look for lighter camper...

Ours weighs 12403, empty. That's delivery weight.

What is your truck rated to pull? How does it handle with that kind of weight?

Really appreciate the help. Got it home, cleaned the interior(only complaint we had), we're good to go. I'll buy a Teflon ring, and pull to Toledo Bend this wknd. If I learn how to post pics, you can check out our favorite spot!
