Started out in the Fire Service for 11 years then transferred to law enforcement carrying over my time in service. 8 years 1 month until retirement with 25 years of service, but who's counting?

11 years of being a city police officer and now a sheriff's deputy. Not sure if I can make it to retirement due to the current attitudes towards law enforcement. Unfortunately there are more LE's than you can imagine that feel the same way I do. My camper keeps me going!!!!!!!

Current Career Firefighter (Wilmington DE) just finishing 26 years. Engine about 3 years, Rescue Squad around 7 years and been on a Ladder ever since. Now, I'm the old guy. Trying to make 30 years....but after some work, the mind says "YES" and the body says HOW'S THAT FEEL?" a day or two later. Never thought I'd see the day we were assigned bullet-proof vests. God bless all of you and thanks for having my back.

To all those with years to go before you retire, believe me when I say that you will reach that magic number before you know it. I can't believe how fast over 40 years went. Stay safe all!!
